  1. Guess I'm going to be diving into my door over the weekend then to find out as no-one seem to know.
  2. I had Cusco front and rear strut braces on my old Supra, now Graham Rudd's, and they were exactly the same as the Veilside braces! I think a front brace is around £200 - maybe try the Shop!! ?
  3. You can activate/deactivate auto closure on early 90's BMW's by clicking a dashboard led switch up or down. The later one's you have to hold the locking button down whilst the windows/sunroof are closing and you can leave them where you wish. You can also hold the button down when you unlock it to lower all the windows etc. 5 Series E39 Beemers have one touch up and down on every window and the sunroof!
  4. Alloys, side skirts, computer, metallic paint and sunroof usually on E30 Beemers.
  5. I think it was probably sacrificed to the God of cost - if it wasn't safe why would they fit it on any window. My g/f's 318iS has one touch up and down on both sides - can't have her with a better spec can I?
  6. I just find it a pain if I want to drop or raise the windows that I have to hold the passenger side and just flick the driver side - if it's just the switch then it's an easy upgrade to make the passager side one-touch. Surprised Toyota didn't do it, every BMW I've had was one-touch all round and on Saab convertibles youe get a single button for all four windows to raise/lower.
  7. I was wondering if converting the passenger window to one-touch operation just requires changing the switch to a latching type the same as the drivers side? Anyone know or do I have to dismantle my door and swap them to find out.

Thats a pity because I was rather keen on the chips away idea but I've got loads of Autoglm Super Resin on mine so it sounds like a no-no. Still, a bonnet respray is a good excuse to have a UK spec bonnet pod fitted
  9. Kaleel had his blue one resprayed a darker blue/purple colour. Very nice job and it cost him around £2500 I think. Have a look at http://www.sonicsausage.com/
  10. I best get some clean buckets, fluid and hose then Will it matter that the front of the car is on axle stands, or should I put all four corners up to keep it level?
  11. Any particular recommendations on which fluid to use?
  12. I was thinking of doiny mu auto fluid but the job seemed a bit of a pain, and from what you are saying Ash it doesn't even work too well. I take it Toyota wouldn't employ your method so I guess I'll have to have a go myself
  13. I'll have to do a bit of investigating then.
  14. I was hitting what I thought was fuel cut for ages but it turned out to be my spark plugs, when I sorted that and hit fule cut at 18psi I pappered my trolleys!
  15. >it just shuts off a butterfly in the manifold and kills the power> A long time after it would do any good as well, and then it won't let you have any power for a few seconds afterwards.
  16. Sounds good, I've always fancied a nice Momo!
  17. No, you get a really violent bang and the red triangle comes on in the centre of the dash, you would certainly drop the throttle out of fright. I can't see that you would get from 11psi to 15psi just by fitting an FMIC, this should just lower the intake temperature and make the turbo more efficient. If it was in 1st or 2nd it may have been you TC?
  18. I was just curious. I've got the airbag/cruise wheel on mine and wondered if it made that much difference. Saying that I'd probably get a warning light or maybe even the big triangle lit up if I removed mine
  19. Are you sure you were hitting fuel cut? This sounds unlikely with standard exhaust and cats in. Fuel cut is very scary and almost feels like you've hit a brick wall, I thought I'd blown my turbos the first time it happened to me.
  20. How much did the airbag weigh John?

    Wider Tyres

Agreed. I've got Eibachs on standard shocks with CW pads and when we were at Bentwaters I could almost reverse it into corners by holding the brakes on too long. This was mostly needed after the front straight because I was struggling for turn in grip and wanted some oversteer!

I may want my red one done as well soon. It's next Tuesday I presume? Let us know what you think.
  23. Yeah, that'll be the one! In that case you are getting to 15psi and you need a Pete Betts FCD pronto.
  24. I would say you should be getting around 12-14psi or so. I take it you haven't hit fuel cut? This is at about 15psi.
