  1. Glad to see your car taking shape again. How much did it cost to get the inner wing replaced, if you don't mind me asking? My car has similar damage, but i have been quoted to jig it rather than replace it and am wondering if it's much differant!

    J-spec BONNET

I need a standard jap spec bonnet, in any colour. Does not have to be in perfect condition as the car's getting painted anyway. So if you've gone carbon, or replaced your bonnet because of a bit of damage, then let me know if you have one taking up space.
  4. Oh yeah....i forgot you have to join the club to take advantage of its services.
  5. Dude, you'd have more luck in the for sale section. And to post a picture, look in the Additional Options section under the reply box, and click manage attachments. Then you can browse your pc for files.
  6. Spotted this car a few times near Waitrose in Wymondham now. Wondered if it's anyone on here. Looked like it had a For Sale type sign on the quarter glass too.
  7. Bad/sad day for his family more like. I'm sure the sport will manage ok.
  8. I think this is what you are after Steve. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?p=477314#post477314 Hope you find something you like.

    Oogling fun

Test your skill at coping a cheeky look. see how long you can last. http://www.milbestlight.com/swf/game/game1.swf
  11. Yeah it's easy to change the rings. Sometimes they have a beveled[?] edge. Just prize it/them off gently and have a close look. IF the top or bottom edge is beveled, just make sure you put the new rings on the same way. obviously if you get the barrell off and the rings are knackered, have a close look and see if the barrell is scored. If the piston has two rings and one has broken up and is unaccounted for, you may be lucky and its been spat out of the exhaust port. Thats the good thing with strokers. There's not much to 'em.
  12. All I can say is that they are very temperamental with their carb settings. Running lean will burn a hot spot on the piston crown, but sounds to me like yours is running rich [too much oil]. 2 strokes normaly smoke a lot until they are warmed up. Did you get it nice and hot? If you did and it still smoked a lot then maybe it is rich. Is it pre-mix? ie; Do you have to add 2stroke oil to the fuel, or is there a seperate tank to put the 2stroke oil into. If you have to add it to the fuel, you have to be sure you get the correct ratio. Spose there could be ring damage. But this is easy to check on 2 strokes. I was always having the head and barrels of my bikes, and never replaced the gaskets. Not like a 4 stroke where you have large comp ratios, and have to stop oil and water mixing. We all know that with cars you have to warm them up gently before you give them any stick, but 2 strokes if you let them idle from cold they smoke like hell when you start to give them some. If you go to a race meeting and watch the 250's starting up in the pits, they rev the nuts of their bikes until they stop smoking. I think they are then considered "warm"
  13. Jeez.. sure is wide. Interested to see it finished.
  14. Read this thread. A wing will cost you £109. [possibly+vat] http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=41383&highlight=discount+parts
  15. Shame i'm now off to work. Will have a bash at this later!
  16. There are differant compounds ot T-cut. You will probably need the courser one to remove paint deposits, plus a bit of elbow grease. Just make sure you don't rub the undamaged paint to much, or you risk going through it.
  17. Can't help you there mate. My passenger side wing was removed by the quick method I mentioned earlier. Hopefully someone will give you some help.
  18. Yeah sorry mate. Don't feel the need to read ALL posts.
  19. After reading it again, he probably is on about one of the front wings. The quickest way to remove these is sideswipe the barrier at around 70. Although this is a highly counter productive method.
  20. I removed the rear wing from my car yesterday. Asuming your car is the same as my 93j/spec, you need to remove the plastic panel under the boot lid. This is held on by push in clips, you need to pull the panel gently from one corner until you hear the clip 'pop'. Once you get a couple off, the rest are easier. There are four bolts holding the wing on, i'm sure they were 13mm. Undo these, give the wing a nudge and you should be in busines.
  21. Just looked for Lichfield on the map. Bloody miles from Norwich. Shame.
  22. That foam part with the ovals either side, does that go behind the rear seat?
  23. It was a little disapointing. Was good to see some action on the track, but I agree the trade area was a little sparse. What happened to the sprint racing? Did I miss it, having got there late [11.00]? I think it just needed more people there, and better weather. Highlight was watching those japanese drift guys.

    Plan B

Cheers mate. I'm sorting out a couple of quotes in my area to get the inner wing put straight on a jig, and have everything checked for alignment. One of them is a Toyota specialist so maybe they will help, but some aren't interested because it is a High Performance car. What area are the people you know off in? I'll be after that I/C soon mate, need it running to move it around.
