What's so special about the 98' Supra?

It seems everyone is after the 98' model. I've heard it's a limited edition, but is there anything else it offers? And in your opinion, what's the best model year and why?

In usa the 1998 was special because it was the final year of supra production in Japan they stopped in 2002.

Its the USA that had the limited edition for 1997 Supras, a 1998 Jap import will be a standard facelift. No special edition or anything like that. Itll just be cleaner and newer. a 2002 JDM import will be desirable in standard form, but then again so will a 1993 in standard form. Its only worth something if you think it is really.

Thanks for clarifying that for me, Though i would think a later model Supra like the 2002 would be less desirable considering the Supra wasn't making much sales, you would think Toyota would be trying to save costs on those later models

Loads more low end grunt, feels like a high compression NA lump when off boost, non VVTI is very lethargic by comparison.
