My New Looking Custom Dash In GunMetal Grey Along With New Location For Syvecs Screen

Hay all. Ok something I was quite excited about doing during my week off. I wanted to have my car a little less Blue as I now have gun metal grey alloys and my trial rear splitter is gunmetal grey.

The dash panels were starting to look a little scruffy and didn't match the new shade of blue on the outside of the car.

I also wanted to relocate my Syvecs screen and is was looking bulky and out of place were it was over the clock.

Soooo I came with an idea to fill up the clock hole, take out the fan above the heater controls and fill that up aswell so its completely flat below the mileage. Then cut out a square and make up a bracket to hold the Syvecs screen in the pannel so it looks a little more flush.

Then get all the dash panels wrapped in gun metal grey to finish it off.

And it turned out pretty nice TBH :) I'm dead happy with the new location of the screen so now the wiper stalk doesn't block some of the screen and it sits more flush.

This is how it looked before:

And filling in the holes. I used a CD case and epoxy resin to stick it down an fill the gaps. I used wet and dry to smooth off all I could:

My mate Alex at AKS Tuning (new Motorsport company he has recently started) cutting the hole for me and making the bracket to hold the screen flush:

Looks great, Love the colour and the flush syvecs. Have you thought about moving your double din back an inch by drilling the mounting bracket. Mine was like yours and I didn't like it :) looks great now and the screen opens fine etc.

Never really thought about it mate. But if its possible I may look into doing that for my next dash thing. It does tilt a bit though when turned on so it may cause problems, unless I turn off the tilt but I like it facing me :)

Looks loads better. Some nice touches as well, like the blue around the dials. As said, grilles over the speakers vwould look nicer IMO and out of interest did you have to cut the hand brake to get the cover on?

No mate its an extra large Richbrook one over the handbrake. With some tucking and stretching it went on :)

That looks great!! is the screen generic with a CAN/USB input or specific for the syvecs pls?

Yes mate the screen us designed for the Syvecs ECU

Looks miles better than the blue but looks a bit silvery for me than gunmetal

Thanks bud but its it gunmetal. Its the EXACT colour as my wheels :) I think its just because the sun was beaming though the rear window, maybe making it look lighter.
