mathew
well quite possibly the biggest impulse buy ive ever made was completed today when i got the keys! my mother had bit of a shock when i told her but its only a few doors down from where i am now. its a 3 bedroom with a garage so i can now fullfil a lifetime ambition of getting a kitcar:) needs a bit of work, mainly decoration, and im gona build a small single storey extension out the back. ive been on a high all day and cant waith to crack on with my little project:) the selling point for me was easily the price, they were asking £105,000 for it (the normal price in the street with a house in good condition is around £130,000)but after my unorthadox haggling techniques i managed to get it for £85,000!!! carl0s
Wow. How did you get £20k off? Have you had to commit to anything strange that makes up the other £20k, or are there houses out there that the owners really will take ~£20k below asking for? mathew
Wow. How did you get £20k off? Have you had to commit to anything strange that makes up the other £20k, or are there houses out there that the owners really will take ~£20k below asking for? it helped that it was advertised through a small estate agents and wasnt in any local newspapers or the internet so unless people went down the street they wouldnt have seen it really that resulted in minimal interest. but my offer went like this.... i put in the 1st offer of £95k. next day i changed it to £90k. after a few days they decided to refuse it. another 2 weeks pass and i get a call saying theyl accept £90k but in the meantime i had seen other properties so decided i wasnt interested BUT made a new offer of £75k lol. if they accepted id be laughing, if not then it didnt matter. they refused £75k so i made a new offer of £80k . another few days pass and they refused that and state they will NOT go below £90k so i made an offer of £84k:d:d. after a few days they get in touch and say theyl accept if i go up to £85k which i did. that is how you buy a house the mathew way:d
