Don't take offence .......... you're posting in Technical . If someone doesn't agree with what you are saying, it will be challenged.

Its just how it is in here.

I'm sure everyone agrees that leaking rockers are a bad thing.... but oil leaking down a plug hole?

Come on........

When I had my MR2, the plug cavities would fill up with water on occasion if you severly hosed it above the engine.

Untill you dried all the water out of said cavities it would mis-fire like a bastard.

I must admit I put it all down to the HT leads not sealing all too well to the plug and the water forming a good ground to the engine. :conf:

Hmmm. I came in too late to see the original unedited posts, but good quoting by matt.

I'd say if you've got something to say, stand by it. If you don't want to stand up for what you've said and shown, people will draw their own conclusions. They aren't here to cause a bunfight, those are some legitimate and quite important technical questions being asked.

If you think oil leaks into the cylinders via the spark plugs I'm concerned, especially as you are paid money by punters to do work on their engines. If you think a bottom end job can be done in-situ and it last for a long time, I'm just as concerned. I'm happy to have my concerns put at rest though if I've got it all wrong or if you (and your pictures) are somehow being taken out of context.

Put it this way - if I spoke to a mechanic and he told me that any liquid in the plug wells leaks into the cylinders, I wouldn't let him near anything I owned.
