Yuk, you can't mix fish with steak!

Ever heard of Surf'n'Turd, I mean Turf?! :)

King prawns. Lovely. Are they really that good for you? As Pete says, they may well be farmed now, so could very well be genetically modified and you wouldn't know it!

I love king prawns, you get some huge ones here at the seafood restaurants in the fishing town where I live, great with either pepper or garlic.

Have you tried fresh Japanese Shashimi (raw) prawns Rosie, they are also very yummy :)

Nic... no I'm scared off all the eating stuff raw malarky :D

You should try it, Japanese sashimi is very yummy, especially prawns which are really sweet, obviously it needs to be properly sourced and prepared though. I once tried sashimi chickens liver in Japan which was surprisingly very tasty and melted in your mouth, this is from someone who normally hates cooked liver.

I'm hungry now... need food :)

Are they? All I know is they are low in calories, fat and carbs.

I presume you don't need to worry about cholesterol unless you have a specific problem with it?? :search:

Yep! I have raised cholesterol but can't resist king prawns etc so I take a statin a day :p

A crab tries to get into a lobster club one night. The doorlobster refuses him entry.

'Sorry, but you're a crab and cant come in' says the big lobster.

'Whats the difference ?' exclaims the crab, 'we are all crustaceans after all'

The doorlobster explains 'lobsters walk straight ahead, crabs scuttle sideways, ergo no-go'

'Ok Tosh, watch this !' cries the crab, and he does a very passable forwards walk.

'sorry, but you are still not getting in' says the doorlobster.

'why not ?' asks the crab

The lobster replied 'you're obviously pissed, you cant even walk sideways'

Salmon fillets. De-lish, quick to cook and no bones, and hugely good for you. No other food is like it, it's like the Babel Fish, it's God's mistake, proof he exists, so he goes *poof* and disappears in a puff of logic.

Where abouts in Germany Ivan?? I was born in wegburg and lived in osnobruck and lived in Hameln for a bout 5 years.

A few months in Fallingbostel in '76 then 8 years in Paderborn and a year in a dump called Hemer near Iserlohn.

Char grilled fresh tuna loin that has been marinaded in garlic, ginger and soy sauce and then served in a crisp salad is one of my favourite healthy meals :D

Especially from a fish you caught yourself 20 minutes previously. You'd be stunned at the taste difference of freshly caught over frozen tuna.

Yeah but as stated further on you'd have to have these prawns fresh and not previously frozen which they'd have to be over here in this country as they just don't grow that big here I believe.

Yeah only one problem I have with salmon now. I grew up on the stuff as my grandfather whom I lived with and very near for years was a fishery inspector in the south of Ireland. He was responsible for destroying the evidence of poaching (well it doesn't take a great leap to figure out how that was done :D). That fish was awesome to eat. The majority of fish you find in supermarkets etc is all farmed and IMHO completely tasteless. Even the ones coming out of rivers in Scotland and Ireland aren't as good as they used to be. For good fresh salmon the only type I have eaten recently that was good enough came from Norway.

I can safely assure you that prawn cocktail and marmite sandwiches are disgusting.

:badidea: Why would you even try that?!

Anyone ever put crumbled oxo cubes (or even better, powdered soup if you are adventurous) into someones trainers ? Great fun.

You must have really disliked someone to consider that!

On form as usual Ewen! :D
