Gough
Evening all Right I'm looking to spend in the region of £700-800ish. I'm more interested in a nice tuneful note than lots of noise, with not too much booom on the motorways, and reasonable ground clearence. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Red
People speak highly of the nur spec I believe. Do a search mate, there have been a couple of threads about this recently.
Gough
Thanks for the reply red. I know about the nur spec/rsr systems, but was wondering about the more unusual systems such as the HKS Ti or Veiside Ti? Any recomendations anyone? Bobbeh
You can get the Veilside Ti for that money, has great clearance and doesnt drone.
Paul -C-
What about an RSR with two decat pipes? I've not heard it, but it's pretty popular on here...
Syed Shah
There is a shootout writeup on http://www.TO4R.com The best you can get is the HKS Ti, and that is what I would choose, with the Veilside in second, having the weight advantage. Bobbeh
RSR is cheaper, stainless steel, looks nice and shiney and also has good clearance. Really depends what you're after. I mean does the fact that the Veilside is Titanium and will never rust appeal to you, or that it weighs nothing? Do you want more bling? if so go for the RSR and its shiney look. Clarkey
I've got an RSR with 2 x CW Decat pipes ... and it's niiice! Sounds great ... when you slowly accelerate .. up through the gears, changing at 4K revs.

jaymdee
Gough, I've been considering this for some time, and am hoping to get up to Envy for an RSR ExMag II and full decat next month. Have paid deposit on Exhaust so had better be able to get time off work!! I reckoned on the RSR as it's £100 cheaper than Nur Spec, better clearance (bastard speed bumps at work) and I believe a little quieter. Excluding fitting, should meet your budget, although you probably want Boost gauge and maybe EGT or Air/Fuel Ratio on top to make sure your engine's in good order. Back on topic, just make sure any exhaust yuo buy is fully stainless or Titanium...steel or aluminiumised steel will rot and you don't want to have to replace it every 3 years... I think the straight through pipe work and one hanger etc can put a lot of strain on the pipe, than the stock set up. Bobbeh, didn't your Titanium exhaust give you some problems recently? Dragonball
In order of prefernce IMHO 1. New Miami-GT Exhaust (unveiled shortly!) 2. RSR GII 3. Blitz NUR 4 HKS Carbon-Ti Which is spooky really as they are all in stock! LOL! No - but seriously - the Miami-GT and RSR ground clearance will be / is brilliant! Although NOT if you have worrisome neighbours - as very loud (on a distinct par with NUR)
Muffleman
Although NOT if you have worrisome neighbours - as very loud (on a distinct par with NUR) [/b] I've a Nur spec on my MR2 Turbo and my Supe, both set off neighbours car alarms Good job I didn't want to go on any track days with a dB limit ! However, wouldn't trade 'em, they're a great exhaust Matt
Stu_Fraser
He He, i can set car alarms of with my Nur spec too :D
Gough
Thanks very much for all your replies, chaps/chapesses. Syed where abouts is that wright up on TO4R? To answer some questions, Bling is of least importance to me, quality and sound (not noise) are. Low weight would be nice too. I'm leaning towards the following exhausts; HKS Ti (apparently the best out there?), Veilside Ti, or an RSR (similar to Nur but cheaper). I think (?) it was an HKS Ti fitted to a gunmetal car in the redline 3 video which sounded superb. Is this really one of the best out there? Thanks again
Whitelightning
I had a HKS Carbon-Ti on Whitelightning. Makes your ears bleed without muffler, nice and quiet with muffler. Ideal ! Made a noticable difference in air flow. But £850 for complete system http://www.wlnet.co.uk/images/Cars/WL/HKS%20Titanium%20Exhaust.jpg Go for it ! Gough
Narrowed it down to two: a) HKS Ti race series b) Veilside Ti teardrop Decisions..... Bloody hell I can't decide!
Bobbeh
All depends on the money u want to spend m8. If you can afford it buy the HKS. But you wont be dissapointed with the Veilside either. Scott, yeah I did, one of the welds (one joining the cat flange right at the end) fractured because the pipe became unhinged at the back, that and a possible grounding of it at the Nurburgring on the Karussell (concretey 180 degree corner). I eventually got it fixed for £10. So no biggie. Paul, how on gods earth do you rate the nur spec above the HKS Titanium (unlest cost is the main factor which Gough is not discussing). Put the spliff down please.
