tomssupra Posted April 11, 2007 Share Posted April 11, 2007 Hi all, Anyone got any recommendations for brake pad and disc replacement, nothing special, just for normal use - ive been looking at, from envy; Endless Vita Nuova Brake Pads TRD Supra Brake Pads Front and Rear Will these fit ok or do i need a special caliper/disc too? ChrisSZ Posted April 11, 2007 Share Posted April 11, 2007 UK spec have 4 pot callipers up front, two in rear, J-Spec are two up front, one in rear. colsoop Posted April 11, 2007 Share Posted April 11, 2007 you are looking at about : £700 for front and rear calipers £300 for discs £150 for pads (Approximate prices) You can get them second hand for £400- £600 although they sell very quickly when they do come up for sale. Nic Posted April 11, 2007 Share Posted April 11, 2007 It's a bit confusing calling the UK and J-spec brakes, as the J-spec Supras also came with the larger 4pot/2pot brakes as standard on some models and as an option on other. Chris Wilson Posted April 13, 2007 Share Posted April 13, 2007 You can even make the J-Spec (small, sorry Nic:)) set up work for serious track day usage, given the right pads and fluid. They can be perfectly adequate for even a modded road car, with suitable friction material in them. The bigger brakes ARE better, but not vital.
