SUPRALOOPY
I think my tubbies are on borrowed time after three years of BPU. I gave it good footful and saw some smoke on WOT, not alot but it was there:( Got home and let tick over for a while and then blipped it and quite alot of blue smoke, more than i normally get and have been getting for ages. Lets hope they last till JAE..
Pete
I'm sure it'll be fine for sometime. It's when it's pouring out all the time you need to worry.

colsoop
Reading about Nics' engine being taken out and Bob having a close call when his tubbies let go. I might have mine replaced before they get to the "its gonna blow " stage.
Sheefa
Jesus, there's about 4-5 smoking turbo etc threads going around at the moment - time of year girlies?! Thicker oil, moving to 10-50 will mask the problem for a bit and prevent it running through the seals, so I've been told. Iirc, replacing the oil seals is around £280 or so from Turbotechnics with around the same for labour in removing and refitting by Turbofit. They'd at least set you right for more miles, but might be cheaper to get a second hand pair or run them to destruction!
Daston
my plan is go bpu then save for a single so in 3 years or so when if it does go I can just rip them out
SUPRALOOPY
I've got a spare set.. Thats why i've been pushing it to see how long and what happens when you take the piss with stock tubbies. I've been running 1.2-1.3 bar for three years and they've done bloody well if you ask me...just can't be arsed to swao them over and stick to 1.2 bar occasionally. Also can't be arsed to do the valve stem seals yet, But i will do after JAE oh and i'll do the cam belt too..

Mas
Mine are still going strong at 1.3bar Although mines only done 43000 might help you to keep them for even longer if you were going down to 1.2/1.25 bar
