I've just had my first attempt at overclocking and I've got my 2200+ AMD up from 1.8 to 2.0. silvershark44 Posted March 23, 2007 Author Share Posted March 23, 2007 Well I consider my pc outdated for games and im running the following.... this plays the game on maxed settings no problem even when forcing v sync AMD 64 3500+ clocked @2.6 ghz 2 Gig OCZ Platinum DDR 400 XFX 7900GTX (512 meg) Hiper 580 watt PSU Just played it for the last half hour, really cant get into it tonight. Seems a bit lacking in most areas and the 'coherent and believable" world is ruined by being able to leave one are through a gate and enter the next from a road tunnel! I cant be arsed to write it out again good old copy and paste comes in Right, ive been playing this a few days now, so i thought id let everyone know what i thought. My initial impression was it was oblivion with guns! The problem i found with oblivion was it was soooo vast and time consuming, 400 hours anyone? To be totally honest i didnt like oblivion that much, but i was bored and off work. I really didnt expect STALKER to be like this, i suppose i was looking out for something not too different to HL2. In a nutshell, i really wanst sure after playing the game for about 4hours. After playing for past that now (8 maybe?) I am totally hocked! The graphics and detail is one of the best ive seen produced. The lighting effects are spot on as too the sounds. The vast array of wepons and potions is great, a new weapon every hour keeps the gun ho's entertained. The levels are not as vast as i wonce thought, perhaps it would be better to liken it to farcry, there are 'nice' borders of Radiation and 'anormalies' to keep you in check. I will fault the lack of being able to hit anything! I found the sight on guns to be useless and simply use it now as a spotting zoom.
