What is the point mate, you know things like that make you look like a child..............but I suppose somehow you find it funny.....

For those that want to know, I linked one his pics to another site (the wheel hub extention pic), he then changed the image for something that Im sure my work would love being cached on their PC's.............so if I loose my contract for viewing obscene images, remind me to thank you Sir........

Sorry but I have no sympathy. I regularly change images when they are being linked to. My images are owned by me and served to the internet for a purpose. If you want to steal my images AND my bandwidth, I'll change the image to a donkey getting some willy action from a midget. If you don't like it, get your own image or copy to somewhere yourself.

I can sort of see your point, but in all fairness as the the pic in question was this......

http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showpost.php?p=1220357&postcount=15

And I referenced it as the same somewhere else, but its wasnt because I linked somewhere else, it was purely because of where it was linked to and some people just need to grow up about this age old argument, its so 3 years ago.......

I host pics on photobucket, and if people ever want to use them then they can link them, why would I get shitty and change the image to something else, why would he, he wouldnt normally but as I said its purely cause of where it was linked to......

Why would you do that, if you dont want anyone using them, why would post them on the internet.........I just dont understand your thought process here........

And if I knew people were going to be childish then I would have saved copy to my desktop and then reloaded, but not being funny, I wasnt expecting someone to drop their mental age by 20 just because they dont like .co.uk..........

I mean Michael, its been about 4 years, get over it...........

Pic in question he replaced is this, its on old internet photo that Im sure some have seen before.......hope your all on your works PC's as well..........

So its ok for Suprash to loose his contract and all the association flack from work?

Really think Mc Fanny should have just removed HIS pic in this instance.

Hold on mate,

Firstly, it could have been linked to by 500 people, are you sure that in this instance the image change was purely to impact suprash? No!

My point is that if you embed or link to an image that you have no control of then you are the one at fault. If I owned a website which displayed images and then decided to change them and as a company you had used my image. Me changing my image fucked up the look of your website that would be my fault? Pish!

At the end of the day the responsibility lies with 1 person, yourself for linking to something you have no control of.

... just because they dont like .co.uk..........

If it had been my image I would have done the same. If Michael had been subject to half the shit that Martin gave me then I can understand why he would not have been happy to see one of his images posted on that site in a helpful manner.

I am assuming that you realised if you had asked Michael permission he would have said no eh?

So now you have made a deliberate attempt to get others into trouble? Don't be a cock, remove that image before children/people at work see it. The difference here is that you have now deliberately attached an image to a thread for the purposes of getting people into trouble. I don't see anyone else doing that!

The post in question has been moderated already so isnt there, just when I found it this big fucking brickwall of a question why ? Is was a good thread, discussing some valid points, the same thread that you guys had over here, no1 boy racers body kit and his spacers he's using...........

I wouldnt even mind if it was down to the fact that he just gets narked with people linking his pics and thats why it was done.....

But its not, he done it just cause its .co.uk, period.........and quite frankly its pathetic......

But I know this argument wont win as some/most probably are anti .co.uk, but Im still sitting here shaking my head in wonderment (sp?) of why......

FPMSL!

I bet you got a whole library of them too eh?

Nice one Michael!

Is it only IT professionals that seem to understand the consequences of hotlinking?

It's wrong. Having said that if hosts do feel very passionate about it they can install something like http://altlab.com/htaccess_tutorial.html or on windows http://www.helicontech.com/HotlinkBlocker/ .

No Lewis, I agree with you on "ownership" part.

but linking to tubgirl (god, I even know the name :( ) is alittle OTT,..don't you think mate?

Yep, absolutely. I'm not condoning the image (especially when I just had to alt+tab as my kid walked behind me). However, my point is that he is lucky it was someone he can come back to. If you link to images you can't control then you can't be suprised when it all goes pear shaped that's all.

Being the owner of the server/image/etc etc entitles michael to do what he likes with it, I see no recourse there?!?!

I wouldn't like anyone to get in trouble over it (of course!) but at the same time I don't really see what suprash's complaint is, it wasn't his image/wasn't his hosting/wasn't under his control.

A bit like complaining to the world that god made it rain on footy day is the way I see it.

Hotlink protection should be available from all hosts IMO - if not - gimme a call ;) I will also supply free images to link to to show when someone does hotlink you.....donkeys anyone?

Lewis, I agree with you yes but your missing one major point, this wasnt the case though was it, I know, you know and he knows why he changed it and more importantly why he changed it to that image especially, its not as if he was doing some housekeeping and then it got changed to a pic of his car without him realising there is a link out there somewher, no he knew the pic was posted and thought it would be funny to change it. If you still want to keep pulling the technacality (sp?) line then fine mate, but I would rather people had balls, opened their eyes, and see the facts for what they are......

So not on the basis of linking peoples pics that you dont own, but on the basis that Michael knew his pic was linked somewhere he dont like, so he purposely changed it, so you still think this is on, ok, big or clever......?

Ash, I'm with you on this one...

Changing images can be funny, but linking to something which is blatantly NWS can cost you your job, which isn't funny...

Mind you I'm in a bad mood anyway after being woken up by a pneumatic drill on my drive at 8h30!!!! WANKERS!!
