Try A-Plan on 0845 071 1234, I was really unimpressed with Sky.

Same here. I am paying 484 fully comp with Bell Direct. I am only TT but it is a J spec with mods declared.

Sky quoted me over 2k so they can go and jump!!!

So how will "like for like" get worked out if the worst was to happen?

I have a huge distrust of insurance companies, I think if its all down in black and white it will be harder for them to stiff me.

Dunno. I guess they look at it or ask you what the part was before it was damaged.

how did you manage that?

they told me you had to be 25 or over,

then i said someone on here was 23 with them, then they said they could stretch to 23.

ure 21 though,

No....on the phone bill :) like if you ring a porno line!

well happy days A plan just quoted me £595 fully comp with limited millage of 6000.

Thats dam good Matt, i pay nearly that for just BPU+ FC agreed value, think i'm limited to 7,000, with SKY mind you mine is kept on the road, but even so! think i'm going to be having a good look around again next month, especially since i want to go single.

Wow that is a good price! I think im going to have to give them a call :)

Did you call your single turbo kit an "aftermarket turbo"? and did you just say that is was running 500bhp? or did you have to let them more details etc?

Cheers Rob

Hi rob i just said it was convertied from twin to single and running about 450 to 500 bhp job done , Im now going to spend the £500 i saved on some injectors so i can finaly put the single on :D

I have used A-Plan for the last 5 years - they are consistantly cheaper. My insurance went up 45 quid for the addition of a single on the policy. agreed value of 20k on the car, 670 total..

That sounds like a cracking deal and I for one will be giving A-Plan a bell tomorrow. I haven't got a single but SKY were appalling with regards to my quote.:(

Got my quote back from A-Plan

£2455 (Mods included)

Manual UK Spec Single turbo with fully re-built engine.

RLTC running about 450 - 500 rwhp

Cat 1 and tracker moniter

Limited milage: 5000

Age 21 - 6 points (2 SP30's) 1 total loss 4 years ago.

Been driving for 3.5 years and have IAM

Mods are on a like for like basis. If i have a smack and its a total loss its market value...including the mods (so something with similar spec)

Fair amount more than my £790 with no mods, but for peace of mind its worth it. (even though i work for a bodyshop and stripping would be no issue)

NULL POINTS - and I dont live in a crime infested postcode either......

The Bell Quote was with 3yrs NCB while the SKY one (current) is 2 yrs - dont think that would still account for £800 worth of difference.

I think I have been taken for a ride bigtime.....

Come renewal in June, I will shop around thoroughly.

Agreed- SKY should be doing a lot better on quotes though....very poor IMO.

Sky Quoted me £2300 for my Supe TT, Stock, (2 years ago). I was going to go for it and then tried A plan and got quoted £1450 with even less excess to pay.

A Plan any day over Sky.

I dont understand how they're the clubs official insurer....can we not get it changed?
