HELP! Clifford Alarm Problems - Car at Chris Wilsons

Hi guys,

I had a service a while ago which included a new battery. Chris replaced this and charged it up - no problems. All alarm systems intact and working fine.

Then, about 5 weeks ago, I had a minor accident and took car back to Chris for FMIC replacement and Radiator too. The alarm systems and immobiliser were working perfectly well but now they practically dead.

Chris can't unlock the car using the alarm fob, only the key itself. He's replaced the battery and that hasn't done any good either. The Immobiliser lozenge that you need to start the engine works fine, but the engine won't start as you need to push the unlock button on the alarm fob to disarm the system once in the car and then deactivate immobiliser.

The battery went flat and this may of caused the problem, but a new battery 3 months ago never caused this!

Any ideas people? It's a Clifford alarm, not sure of model though.

Should I get an engineer out and do you have any contact numbers?

Thanks, Greg. ;)

Oh dear, if it doesn't rain it pours. :(

I think Matt Harwood is your man for this stuff

I have a Clifford 600 alarm on mine and the software on my notebook. I could try to have a look at it for you if you like?

Do you know your PIN code to access it?

Thanks Pete.

No idea mate. When I got the car I was given the certificate of installation and manual only - nothing else. Haven't a clue of the model either.

If you do come across anything that might help Pete that'd be great pal. Never an easy life is it!

Cheers

Greg ;)

Thanks Pete. Just the problems that are sh*t at the moment that's why!

So, have you fixed the problem then?!!

How's Chris doing? I know he's pretty manic at the moment so I'm more than happy to let my Sup sit there until he has time...........and I have the cash lol!

Cheers again mate.

No mate, we were playing with the ODBII reader (mine had NO fault codes at all and is running sweet BTW :) ) and I dropped some printer ink off for him. It was too dark and pissing it down, besides I didn't have my laptop with me (went straight from work) and I don't know if it'd work without the PIN code. Was in a bit of a rush as I've got a lot on this week.

Chris is always busy. I did get chance to see the Owls feeding time though. They're very cool, if a little spooked by visitors. The one puffed itself up to twice it's size trying to intimidate me, but I was having none of it ;)... (Only because he was in a cage and I wasn't!)

Interesting avatar.

Only joking Pete! I didn't expect you to get on the case with the car mate - have you the knowledge though, that is the question.

Good to hear your car is running well mate, even though I feel that was a slight pi*s take! ;)

Chris certainly has quite a few pets doesn't he? Everytime I pull up on the drive I can hear barking, squarking and the like! Crazy Farm. All good fun. :)

Night all.

I'm off to get some sleep and dream about one day, yes, one fine magical day, I'll have her back on the road again for at least a week.............zzzzz..........zzzz

Once I'm in using the software it's not a problem and I can configure it. Other than that I'm clueless.

I spoke to the ever helpful Matt earlier today, it's a matter of removing all power for a while and a clean re connect, if that doesn't fix it I will bypass it, you can either just use the Clifford lozenge thing, or, if for whatever reason you feel it needs 2 immobilisers, get a new one fitted. I am charging the battery up again (quite why it is discharging i don't know, but that's the least of its problems at the moment ;) ) I freely admit that car alarms are a pet hate of mine. I remove them from my cars, if I am unfortunate enough to buy one with one fitted, they just get right on my nerves, bleeping and resetting, and locking doors. Central locking is all I want! Jane had to leave her Jeep at the pub the other week, the key fob thing was playing up, so the car was totally un startable. Crazy bloody idea. The nice thing about my motor trade policy is they don't insist on alarms on my own cars :)

Cool Chris. Do what needs must mate even if you sledgehammer the damn alarm mate! Immobiliser is fine for me. In fact, I don't think the alarm eery worked! It never went off, just flashed the indicators from time to time! LOL :)

Let me know how things go mate. Did you get my email about the parts making their way to you?

Cheers as always Chris ;)

Matt - Thank you very very much too pal ;) :)
