If it is true, then it's an exploitable loophole that could end up costing the Government a few pennies in repaid fines. Shame. I for one though, don't fancy giving it a go to see if it is. The system will monitor a lane yes... however there are multiples of these SPECS systems all along a road.. You aren't nailed between camera #1 and camera #2, the software has the ability to grab you with camera #1 and camera #5... now here is the flaw... if it grabs you between #1 and #5... you can still only change lanes a limited number of times, ie 3 lanes on a motorway. How on earth can visual recognition software nail four lanes of motorway (vehicle plates) at 40mph and get them accurate enough to match them at the other end...?! I would love to lift the bonnet on these things and see how they work.... if that is what they actually do..? Has anyone been done with one of these things?
