The Ultimate American Patriot?

I don't do hugging. Physical contact with strangers (and lets face it, most people I know too) isn't something I'd advocate.

that wasn't your attitude when i was down there a fortnight ago

must have had something to do with the kilt and faint whiff of haggis eh :D

Matt

I'll check and see if I still have the article/e-mail Matt. These pics made their way around the military community via e-mail over a year ago. There's a lot of stuff like this.

Great truck that. It represents all that is bad about the US, and someone has spent a lot of time and money doing that paintwork and customising to show the world just how tasteless, wasteful and nasty the US can be. All summed up in one vehicle.

Is that really what it represents or is that what you want it to represent? How many vehicles have you seen rolling around England you'd hate to be known for? I don't mean to be nasty my son, but our countries are allies and have been for a long time and for good reason. You should take a drive to Cambridge and visit a pub called the Eagle. Find the white haired man in the back near the fireplace and listen to his story. Then go ahead and tell me you hate Americans. What have they done to you. Have I caused you pain sir? Have you even ever been to the U.S.? I've met some rude, nasty Brits before but do you think I judge them all for the indiscretions of the few? As mentioned above, you have to respect hard work and talent when it comes to a creation like that, regardless of what you think it represents. No matter how you feel about a country's politicians, the decisions that country's government makes, or whatever you read in the extremely bias media, a soldier is never to blame for those decisions. He/she is just a soldier who volunteered to protect the rights of its people (including the freedom of speech which they themselves don't have). We can continue this conversation peacefully if you like some time over a beer. I believe that's one topic we can all still agree on.

Sorry all. Not meant to be a rant. I'll take that hug now.

Yes, like I say, it represents what is BAD about the US, of course there is plenty of good. Glorification of war (war is NOTHING to be proud about) is always bad in my book, as is patriotism and tasteless and tacky picture-painting on a stupid gas guzzling vehicle. FYI, I have many, many friends in the US, have been there more times than I care to remember, and as for taste, well I make my living from it, and I ain't doing to bad either.
