We have modded the car as follows so far, i'd love to hear suggestions for a big blower? Also suggestions of what else i might need to do alongside these mods to get some serious power! GeordieSteve
What will the car be used for and what power do you want?
supraphil
the car is used regularly, but not as an every day car.... i dont really want to 'overtune' it to the extent everything starts falling apart, but still want to be heading towards 600hp, although i dont really know what sort of power i should expect!? I also dont have a bottomless bank account!

JamieP
Is the boostlogic T67 water cooled aswell?
stupra
If the car's a manual t67, if its an auto t61. Even the t61 can give a good 600 bhp. It also depends if you don't mind the car having alot of lag.
supraphil
yeah, its manual... how much is a t67 likely to set me back? I have standard injectors, for 600bhp are they going to need changed?
stupra
I'd upgrade the injectors mate, espesh if your on standard jap 440's. Go for something like PE 650's, they'll be ok. Have a look on one of the traders web sites (i've gone with BL), that'll give you a good idea about price of the kits, I think it'll be around the £2500-£3000 mark for a t67 kit. Alex
The T67DBB from BL is watercooled. Capable of over 600RWHP. Full boost before 4000rpm.
veilsideTT
PHR Stage 2 DBB - The best you can buy right now IMHO. Why DBB? How much extra would that be costing compaired to non BB?
Thorin
Why DBB? How much extra would that be costing compaired to non BB? Faster spool, and I believe about £300 extra for the BL kit?
veilsideTT
I think the PHR is around £500-600 extra and i seem to remember reading somewhere that even Jarret said DBB is overrated in so many words! Runs for cover

wkdtime
Check Ian's thread about his REAL WORLD experience with BL NON DBB vs BL DBB... There is a difference...maybe the PHR kit isn't good enough to show a difference... Alex, once at WOT from a rolling start in the right Rev range i dont think the difference would be significant at all between the two units, obviously when at 5th gear and low revs and then going WOT the DBB will spool up quicker, but in the real world no one drives like that. DBB's for autos in my opinon and the extra £ for it to be fitted to a manual does not warrant the small gains.
Ian C
Alex, once at WOT from a rolling start in the right Rev range i dont think the difference would be significant at all between the two units, Well that agrees with my predictions and conclusions I wrote up when testing the two units, yes. obviously when at 5th gear and low revs and then going WOT the DBB will spool up quicker, Yes, but also it spins up faster at part throttle - it's much more responsive. but in the real world no one drives like that. I'm glad you know how I drive better than me. So in the real world everyone, every time they want to increase speed a bit, knocks it down enough gears to get over 4000rpm and hits 100% throttle? I'd hate to see you park. Cruising at 80mph, in 6th, on a dual carriageway, I want to get to 90, I can just ease the right foot down and the turbo picks up a few psi and waft the speed up, even though I'm below 4000rpm. This is exactly where the DBB benefits are found, and this is called "drivability" or "tractability". This sort of driving is done in my life rather a lot more than WOT blasts from 4000rpm upwards. I'd hate to think I'm unique and everyone else is either cruising or at full boost If you only ever focus on peak power and not area-under-the-graph, and you only ever use WOT above 4000rpm, don't get a DBB. -Ian

mikeyb10supra
I also dont have a bottomless bank account! I would have a serious re-think then, once the floodgates open the money get spent.....you can rack up a 10k bill no problems for a basic conversion its a big bonus you have a manual I guess Turbo kit will cost you best part of 3k Fuelling etc easily 1k+ Front Mount 6-800 Mapping not to sure but would say another 1k easily Clutch 2-300 Just a really rough Idea for you, you may do the work yourself or know people in the trade so good luck you, but its expensive as I am finding out.....im doing it bit by bit at the mo to try and offset the cost # Speak to other on here that have done it themselves for a better idea

Marty
stick with a T61, or T67. Its going to cost you an easy % grand if you want to do it right, be warned im on 3grand, ive not bought fueling (1grand) or a clutch yet (£600), and alot of my parts are not brand new. you can get 600bhp from a t61, easy, aslong as you have decent fueling etc.
michel lane
sp71gts water cooled with all supporting mods if you dont want anyone to catch you , else stick with the slow sp61-67....... or if you are a real man sp74dbb .. p.s supporting mods does not include just a fuel system
