how_supra
Dinner that is? If you have a plate of food in front of you, do you mix it all up and combine the flavours, or eat each part separately and enjoy each individual flavour on its own merits without tarnishing one taste with another I always get the mickey taken out of me for eating my food “in an unusual way” and saving the best and my favourite thing to last; I always eat my food in order of least preference to favourite So am I freak or not? Soonto_HAS_soop
I do the same, leave the best till last, unless I am having curry, then it's mix it all together and get everything covered in the sauce...

jim_supra
Yep, I leave my favourite till last too:d Edit: Oh and i never put sauce (tomato ketchup, brown sauce etc.) directly on my food, i like to have it seperately and dip my food in when i want it! Soonto_HAS_soop
Well I might mix some of the beans in with the mash, but I tend to like having gravy with mash, so tend to go with a mush again. I always leave the sausages or meat till last though.
chilli
yes, typically I rotate around the individual flavours, often combining in twos and threes for a mixed flavour as required but ultimately always getting rid of anything I'm less keen on first and saving the some of the best until last

chilli
definitely all sources have to go on the side for dipping - any other way is just wrong!
how_supra
what about mixing sauces?? That feels wrong to me?? Also do you spread the butter on the bread or dip the bread in the butter?
chilli
some sauce mixing is ok by me, I sometimes do red + mustard, or red and chilli sauce - so long as the bulk remains unmixed butter goes on bread, not the other way lol

jim_supra
It gets me when i see people completely smothering their food with sauce, what's the point? all you will be able to taste is the sauce!

Mike
got to take the 'main' thing and smudge a bit of everything else on to it... mix up the flavours is what I say.... I'm really hungry now! I really fancy some kind of bangers, mash and peas scenario... My brother in-law eats a trifle by layers, which is annoying.. that goes against the whole ethos of trifle eating IMO....

Sadly I too am guilty of de-laying trifle. Its my favourite desert actually. I save the cream to last.

Is that not structurally impossible? surely the 'cake base' would be last to go?
