Fire148
This one should open a few eyes I hope. Go and get your tyre pressure gauge and measure the pressure on all your wheels RIGHT NOW and then without fibbing or reading from your 2 year olds 1.2.3 book, tell us what they are ... no lying !!!! Be sure to quote your tyre sizes and say whether or not your tyres are COLD, WARM or HOT 'N STICKY. Right, I'm off to do mine ... ok so it is 1:25 in the morning and a little nippz outside, but we'll see what they are ...
Fire148
Ok, here's mine then .... Tyres are 245/35 19"s and tyre pressure was 37/38 psi all round. Btw, if anyone knows James, then tell him not to use Anodised Dust Caps !!! Binned them a while ago after required a spanner and pliers to remove them !!! Elliot
That seems mighty high! I though the recommended was 34 or something? I seem to remember a thread on tyre pressure a while back, but I don't remember anyone saying that high! - Is it because you have 19's on or what? I did mine yesterday after not checking them for about 5 months (muppet - I know!) they were all between 20 - 22 and I quickly pumped them up to 35. They were measured when cold BTW. Need4Speed
275/35 17 Rears are 32 235/40 17 Fronts are 32 Car is in the garage and hasn't been driven for 6 hours If you've got 37psi on a cold night with cold tyres, let them down a few pounds. What is this all about? edit: I did mine yesterday after not checking them for about 5 months (muppet - I know!) they were all between 20 - 22 and I quickly pumped them up to 35. They're probably shot then - sidewalls. I check mine at least twice a week and every decent long run. I also check them cold then warm - you'd be surprised how much the pressure changes. Need4Speed
ive always found 32psi cold to b the best on every car ive had. Hmmm... I think you may find pressures are a dictated by tyre size, car weight, weight distribution, type of tyre, compound, and use. I'm sure I've missed a few parameters - CW, any comments? My reason for asking is that I have a set of virtually new 225/50 Bridgestone S03's that I no longer need and require a good home ... I also have 2 brand new (well almost) 16" rims (silver alloy) that need a good home.... all are VERY cheap cos they're just knocking about and not wanted.... Paul Laing
What tyre pressures would you all recommend for these: 255/35/19 275/30/19 Cheers lads
SupraPito
32 psi though sometimes I load the fronts with 34 and the rears 32 based on heavy breaking techiques used in my car racing days where all the pressure and weight distribution tends to be at the front as you accelerate fast and heavy breaking before turning a corner. Supragal
Not that they're on my car but: 335/30/18 = 37 275/35/18 = 34 Apparently I should try them on that and see how I go. Not 100% happy about experimenting with that rubber but hey!
