ardasaliah
http://www.bouncingbullet.com/guides/ttcmod/index.htm Hi found this (a nice write up)- I am thinking of doing this but have a few reservation. I do know how the car behaves in TTC ect but was wondering 1) what problem, mechaninaclly running in TTC can cause. For example to certain pressure areas on the sequential system. 2) How does the switch cause it to run in TTC- (do have a goodish understanding of system) 3)Also when switched to SQE mode is it running the same as it would do with out the mod if you see what I mean. Cheers:search:
terawua
Ask Nic Vollans (import pimp) his car is running TTC, but he said that he got boost creep and so had to have an external wastegate to control boost creep. Other than that I think it makes it really loud!
letmeshowyou
there's loads of info on this about the forum - the question is why do you want to do this? It's really not a worthwhile mod. Try and get hold of the post Ian C made with the dyno plots for each. Nic has had quite a bit of sucess with this as I understand it, however he also has a piggyback to sort out some of the other problems its causes. Nic
Ask Nic (import pimp) his car is running TTC, but he said that he got boost creep and so had to have an external wastegate to control boost creep. Other than that I think it makes it really loud! Not an external wastegate J, but I do have HKS actuators fitted. I would only advocate the TTC conversion if it is permanently converted and the car is mapped to suit. I wouldn't advocate doing the ETTC and just relying on the stock ECU to cope with things. Here's a copy of the comparitive dyno graph mentioned above. http://img133.imageshack.us/img133/5206/t61vsbpubm7uy3.jpg
Tricky-Ricky
I am running TTC mode i have both actuators wired open rather than the VSV s bypassed or one way valves, but i also run it with just the two waste gates controlling boost, it will occasionally peak at 1.2.5 bar but in general its 1.2 wich may be a little high, i will get around to making a smaller restrictor ring, as for fuelling it will return slightly better MPG but if you use boost a lot its not so good as the ECU seems to supply too much fuel at lower boost levels, i also run water injection which makes it even richer at high boost, so if you are contemplating it then i would get yourself an sfafc or emanage to get the fuelling just right. ardasaliah
I just want the option to run in TTC for the exhaust sound and fuel economy reasons? PS don't say get a polo - got one;) read somewhere that fuel economy is improved by doing this mod.
Tricky-Ricky
Yes stock j-spec turbos. How the hell are you managing 547bhp? what supporting mods have you got? what sort of AFRs are you running at peak torque and BHP plots?and at what boost? i also presume your running a FMIC and Emanage at the least, sorry for the quiz but it seem quite high so i'm very interested as i'm running similar set up. I wish The dyno graph is Terry S BL61, Homers sequential TT and my TTC dynoes were overlayed as a comparison, there are notes next to each line to say what they are. Mine is the dark blue line which peaks at 430fwhp. Just noticed the notes are wrong they should say FWHP not RWHP.
Tricky-Ricky
Doh! sorry should have put my glasses on! still 430 bhp is pretty good going:)

Homer
Here's a copy of the comparitive dyno graph mentioned above. Nic, just to add - that graph shows flywheel Hp on mine and Terry's car, not rwhp. Unfortunately Terry never got the rwhp on a graph so we couldn't compare them.
