Tricky-Ricky
The best use of double declutching in a film was Steve McQueen driving the Mustang during the chase in Bullet. Sounds awesome on a V8 Its just a shame that he seems to have an eight speed box though:p listen to the number of up changes;)

andrew7
They weren't going that fast. How many times did the green beetle get back in front of them? Apparently they got up to 120 mph or so on parts of that chase..and it was the first filmed chase with a camera actually in the car, as opposed to the car being sat on the back of a truck or in a studio with a "road" screen behind it......... TRD3000GT
in a drag race, you REALLY dont want to be double declutching you would finish about a minute after the other guy I can quite safely say double clutching is impossible if your shifting up a gear and accelerating fast.. Its all about bliping the throttle to meet match gearbox speed with engine speed when you re engage and it makes the whole process a much smoother event. In cars like a TVR with a big block if you dont know how to double de-clutch and you start shifting down its extremely jerkey and you put lots of un needed stress on the everything in the drive train + you will get through clutches more quickly. Ive been doing it for ever as I was taught how to do it when first learning.
Ian C
Why not just heel-toe and match revs like that? Way faster... -Ian
