Someones trying to be a smartarse by using the tag. :p

Anyway, I've corrected the posts so the quotes actually quote the original authors now.

lol, you cheeky git. I wrote that! See

Aahh - so it was YOU who couldn't spell 'Imagine' in Example 1! :D :d

Anyway - manual button.

You can go through the gears in normal auto mode by just selecting wach gear in turn.

The difference when you use the 'MANU' button is that if you move off from a standstill with '2' selected, you'll actually start in 2nd gear. This is done so you can move off better in poor grip conditions such as snow/ice. Holding in '2' will not allow the car to ever see 1st gear and will prevent it from changing up into 3rd too. Holding it in '3' will mean you still move off in 2nd, but the car will be allowed to change up into 3rd as normal. Overdrive will not be active in MANU mode.

Oh - and apparently the transitions between gears are slightly faster in MANU mode, but I have never actually seen that in any official documentation.

OMG you had to use the tag to write that (i.e.: by putting in the message window) - any more of this sillyness and it'll get confusing! :p
