andrew7
How can anyone pronounce "ice cream" incorrectly? Its in the pitch..the ""I" is higher than we would say it.... and instead of saying "Ice(-pause-)cream"" they say "Iscream"...

Jspec Germany
Its in the pitch..the ""I" is higher than we would say it.... and instead of saying "Ice(-pause-)cream"" they say "Iscream"... Don't know where you were eating it dude (West Virginia?), but it's pronounced "Ice...Cream" in 47 of the states I've been to. That is, unless you're talking to some illegal immigrant who shouldn't be eating it anyway. I know a lot of Brits like to bash Americans (especially Clarkson), but having lived in the U.S. and spent lots of time watching Sky, I can assure you sir, there are f*cked up stupid people in both countries. I used to think only Americans were a bunch of uneducated, drunk, out of shape, criminals, but I was wrong. Our two nations are alike in more ways than most people are willing to admit. I think Clarkson's a fat ignorant cuss who doesn't know jack-f*ckall about cars and I often disagree with him when it comes to which cars are cool or uncool. However, I do appreciate his sense of humor and am very glad he does the show. It's my favorite thing to watch on Sky. Rant over.

No one was having a go at America, it was just a discussion on pronunciation differences, that's all. Nobody was saying who was right or wrong. And as an American it may sound like "Ice Cream" to you, but how would you know?... It sounds like "Iscream" to all the Brits that I know..... And BTW..what are illegal immigrants supposed to eat? Is there a special diet?...We'd better tell Tony ASAP........

Good and bad points with both places but its no different from bashing the French etc, it makes entertaining TV for the mindless ignorants. Makes for good pub talk TV. It was funny watching Clarkson try to avoid mentioning the 'leaf spring' suspension on that Z06 Vette which virtually owned most of the cars around his test track. Class One
They were going to move to Enstone Airfield near where I live as Clarkson is only up the road. They were going to be limited to filming about 25days per year, and run corporate driving days up there etc. There isn't a house within at least a mile and I had an extra job lined up there with them and our local council put the kybosh on it by refusing planning permission. Arse.

Jspec Germany
I obviously f*cked this one away. Yes, we say "ice" as well. I was trying to spell it phonetically and that's why I used Eyesss. There's no "z" sound. It's a sharp "I" with a quick "S".
