As much as i hate to say it i think the supra is beginning to look dated

well 2 cars from early 90's stand out to me as before their time.

Supra had the curves early

also

Mk3 Fiesta, the curves on that car were also before its time

But now with all the future cars having sharp lines and corners etc... i think the supra is starting to show its age. The best example i could use is the new honda civic, fiesta, C2 etc...

what do you guys think?

I think you're full of shit. You look like shit and you probably smell like shit. You are... just shit.

:D :haha:

On a more serious note, i think you're wrong as the side profiles of the DB9 and the new XK looks quite a bit like a wingless Supra, even the Veyron is quite curvy etc and had someone on here mistake it for a Supra. Parts of the Supra look dated, like 17 inch wheels etc and the alloy pattern on them, interior controls etc, but all in all i think it's aged well :)

The Designer of the new XK who is my next door neighbours mate, was checking my car out and really admiring it. Unfortunately I was out but told my neighbour to give me a shout next time - so I can get them to appreciate the Supras design properly!

James...James.....I love you like a son, but I hope your next shite is a hedgehog.

The Supra shape is timeless. If it came out tomorrow with an updated interior and more aggressive front lights it would piss over the new Jag and look good next to an Aston.

Compared to a 350z its positively gorgeous, and as for the uber modern Civic, if that mishmash of geometry and facets is the future of car styling god help us. Cars today are in general an automotive form of the Emperors Clothes, committees overinfluence by the US market. The Supra stylists kept it simple, pretty and pure.

Oh, by the way, have a :D

Don't worry about the car looking "dated."

So does the E-Type, 40 years on and still gets admiring looks everywhere it goes. So will the Supra in another 30 years when all cars are made of glass....

Curves rule baby............

Got to disagree, it's an iconic design, it should evolve slowly like the basic 911 shape which has evolved. It doesn't need a radical makeover just a touch of liposuction here and there and perhaps a makeover internally and a few updates to the engine. BUT the basic shape is just right.

Even when really pissed off with cars and tests etc as I was yesterday, I woke up today and thought, I'll have my baby back on the drive within a few days and suddenly the whole world was a lot brighter.

I've got to say that, in stock trim at least, the Supra does look a little dated. It does need to sit lower, the wheels are too small and look rubbish and could shed a few inches around the rear wheel arches and filler cap area.

Apart from that, they look mighty fine.

What a load of old crap, go wash your mouth out with soap and water lol.

The new 'angular' styles, it's a bit like a fashion, everyone is doing it at the moment, but curves will come back too - you think cars will be angular forever more? look at cars from the 80's, some of those were very angular. These are passing phases, the supra basic shape is quite timeless and although I think it can benifit from a few careful mods here and there, the basic shape is a great one.

now if this thread was about an impreza, and evo, a skyline - you might have more of a point, as it is, it's just a load of crap :p

Anyway there's no end of bits to allow the car to be updated if that's what you want.

Bog std car may look a tiny bit dated. I had people last year ask me was my car new?

Nice wheels, and a set of skirts is all you need to make it look current.

Have a look at all the new super coupe's, Supra rip off all of them, especially Astons, they are really taking the piss.
