osso
I've been a member of this forum for quite awhile now! During this time, I've found there's nothing more annoying than than reading wise crack comments and hijacking from people on this forum judging how much a car is worth in the classified section. In my opinion, i think the thread creator in the Cars or Parts classified section should be given an option whether to lock the thread once it has been created. Preventing annoying comments, which generally in most cases wonders off topic. your thoughts?

tbourner
I think it'd be a good idea to have certain rights over any thread you create - not the same as mod powers and they could overrule you but to prune your own threads would be helpful.

A thread shouldn't 'belong' to anybody though IMO.. it's an open discussion. But in the For Sale section i think it's a good idea as it makes it more like just an advert. I think this should only apply to the For sale section, but i've no idea if this would be possible to customise this forum to allow this feature. Just thought it would be a good idea to raise the issue.
CJ
In every thread I create in the classifieds (and there have been many) I welcome comments, questions and banter. Why not? It keeps the thread alive.

Lewis
who gives a shit? like others have said, it keeps it bumped regularly. If all else fails and you find a troll in your thread, do the same as any other and ask a mod to prune/lock/edit the thread

Dunno about that. Take the mkiv cars for sale forum. I post up I've got a car for sale at a really cheap price and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it (assuming I wasn't a mod with with mods powers) and you post up saying "Yeah I know that car it's a cut & shut isn't it?" and I then delete your post and lock the thread. You don't notice it and so don't report it to a mod, some poor sod buys my car thinking it's fine only to then come on here and say "I bought this car from mawby" and you go and really upset them by telling them there's something wrong with it and you did try to warn people but your post was deleted! I think it's better to leaving any sort of thread/post maintenance to the mods.
Pete
I believe it helps other members make decisions about the vehicle. Obviously if something totally unjustified is said about the item in question then there are issues, but in general it may help people to have the guidance of others.
