Tom S
Well time for a few words..... I recently became a Events Mod, and within my area's only (Events NE ,NW , Scotland & Europe together with National) i often prune meeting threads and delete posts with out pictures. Ones with Pictures are moved to the Multi Media Section. Hope this is what Sonic meant, I can do nothing outside of the Events Section:taped:
Charlotte
I think he's trying to get at a few threads that he has responded to have been deleted or pruned but NOT at the mods directly.

Nic
If it's just your post count reducing, then it's probably just old posts getting pruned. I occasionally delete posts in my section, just to clean things up, I've also noticed old classified adds also get deleted and I guess since the change in the events section, this has led to more posts getting pruned. Scoboblio
The moderators do a good job on here. They should have more input. One instance I can think of immediately is the "Title" under a members name. I took this at face value when I joined, if someone claimed to be "Experienced" or "Expert" I stupidly thought they were. There are people on here claiming to be these who in fact are less knowledgable than myself. Thank goodness I have sussed out who the knowledgable ones are This is automatically generated by the forum when you reach a certain number of posts... ie you become "experienced" after a couple of thousand or something. Some people over-ride this with a personalised title.
Keith C
My moderating style is to not only delete posts that are offensive/abusive, but also another posts that reference or quote the abusive ones, or posts that contributed to causing a dramatic, unwanted, off-topic shift. Just deleting a single post often isn't enough, and requires the deletion of other, not in themselves offensive, posts in order to clean a thread up. I have to say Keith I do find you a tad heavy handed with the pruning... let the people speak dude...
Faye
Well if people didn't bait others with their "innocent" comments, he probably wouldn't have to be so heavy handed. If its the night in question, all I saw were a bunch of people trying to keep winding someone up (to my mind that doesn't really come into free speech), when it was quite obvious that a mod was trying to dellate the situation. michael
often prune meeting threads and delete posts with out pictures. Ones with Pictures are moved to the Multi Media Section. Why do you need to prune things though? Are we short on space? Is the database struggling? I can't see why any thread needs to be deleted, some need to be locked but surely we can cope with a decent archive? I find it a little annoying when I search for a thread I know existed only to find one individual has decided it's not worthy enough to stay with us for the future. The club thrives on the exchange of information, why restrict this?

It was basically an out and out slanging match agreed, but that said some of the (admittedly harsh) words written on that particular night are really nothing compared to some of the material floating around this place..?! I just think we seem to have inconsistency which needs to be addressed... I hate it when I say stuff and then it gets censored?!
Nic
I prune adverts sometimes in my own section, after questions are asked and answered, or where there is chat. This is usually a month or so later when I want to 'freshen' up the post as it were. I've noticed quite a few old classified threads I posted last year have been deleted, I lost some pics recently and tried to go back to them so I could recover the pics, but posts no longer found.
