Any info would be great?

Just fitting lowering springs won't do your geometry much good...

Chris Wilson does a full suspension set up that is very well regarded, do a search.

I had the CW setup on my UK for two days before Toyota stuffed it and ......you know the story. :(

I was very impressed, gone was all that body roll and not at the sacrifice of anything, still great on the M-way for those long trips.

Sharp fast roundabouts were a joy.........those were the days....:innocent:

I've had Chris Wilsons suspension on my car for a couple of years now and it's absolutely superb, simply put the best money I've spent on my car to date. Well worth spending the extra and getting it done properly rather than wasting money on a set of springs and ruining the handling&ride of the car.

The power is put down soooo much better, nice firm but NOT harsh ride, no body roll, feels razor sharp around tight bends, squats down superbly on long sweeping straights, feels glued to the road at 180mph and it reduces the ride height nicely without making speed bumps too much of a pain. Combined with a set off good tyres (Bridgestone SO3's for example) your couldn't ask for more.

As you can tell I like it...a lot. :)

Mine came with an HKS lowering kit on it already, lower by about 30mm. Not ridden in a standard uk, but this isn't bad, ride wise. Sure, it's bumpy around town, but feels good on the open road. Though given the choice, I'd probably go for something more complete if I were doing it myself.

Scooter - Suspension was completely standard and the car had done around 15000 miles. It was pretty good, definitely better than my previous Supra (Aerotop). My only real gripe was the "nose up" stance the car had but then I'd never driven a Supra with aftermarket suspension. I then had the engine mods done (both cats out, FMIC etc) and the back end became very lively. The CW setup's transformed the car.

Consists of a set of Bilstein shocks and custom progressive springs, fitted with a proper geometry setup. From memory the price is 1200quid all in, but best to check with Chris.

There's a few threads on ChrisW's suspension, have a look with the search for more info...

I have JIC FLA-2 coilovers all round on mine, and it'a a different world. Fully height adjustable, lighter than stock, pillow ball mounts.

I would also like to know this as I have the J-Spec Bilsteins on standard springs.

If you lower your supra and don't change the camber, castor and toe settings the tyres will wear unevenly and the handling will be affected.

You cannot just put shorter springs on and expect it to handle as well as a fully geometry checked system, everything is linked.

My current kit uses custom springs and re valved European made Bilsteins, and as it lowers the car a little the geometry needs re setting. I use settings I have devised to give reasonable tyre wear on the road with good grip and progressive handling. If you want something more track orientated I can oblige, but ride and tyre wear on the road will be seriously compromised. The kits are 1200 fitted and set up, no VAT to pay. The only extra would be if any suspension bolts were totally seized and needed replacing. I am (hopefully justifiably) proud of this kit, which took considerable development. So far everyone that has used it has been flattering in their praise. It's not cheap, but as a single decent shock absorber alone for a race car is now around the 700 quid mark, nor is it expensive. Other kits such as the Whiteline one, have had less than glowing write ups from end users.

Finally, I may be presuaded to offer adjustable spring platforms to reset ride heights, but to be frank I don't believe they are more than a pub bartering tool fo most users.

Chris,

How serious is seriously, for someone wanting to do alot of trackdays but drives 90 miles a day to work what setup would be better?

Whats involved in swapping between settings?

Is there a price difference?

Kind Regards
