Steve W
Following on from my other threads.... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=62285 http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=62406 (BORED yet ??? ) Has anyone got their Rear Camber set up 'WRONG' on purpose ? ie. set too 'vertical' so's the rears sit more 'upright' IYSWIM ?? to cut down on the 'inner-edge-wear' and give a more even wear ??? I realise the camber is set-up to produce high cornering force on the outer wheel/tyre (by giving a 'flat tread profile' when leaning into a fast corner) but, as i have an N/A and neither Carole nor myself NEED that ultimate traction, could i get them to give me that upright-ness to give better wear ?? (or would that give MAJOR problems with everyday handling ?) I'm gonna ask the garage the EXACT same thing, but wanted your opinions as well. It just seems a crying shame to lose SO much of the outer part of the tyre when you throw it away Experiences.....?......opinions......? FatS. Chiefgroover
Dont add too much negative camber or you'll have crap traction and bad tyre wear. 0 works good on the rear, and not too much toe in either, the Toyota settings are a bit strong on this. AJI
the rear camber is there for front-rear grip balance in corners. Too much and you'll just get boring understeer.... too little and your rear end will get twitchy.
