Steve W
SORT OF a repost of my own thread..... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=62285 BUT, still like to know if anyones running 285/35-18s or 285/40-18s or even 295/35-18s ?? and, in particular, on STANDARD Wheel Arches (ie. NO rolling !) i'm pretty confident the 285's will be no problem, just wondered about the 295's (although i KNOW there's very little choice in that particular size) ALSO, anyone been running the newer Toyo's (T1-Rs) and had any experience of their wear rate ?? I seem to have got on an N/A with no hard driving at ALL !?!?!?!?!? ??? Thanks Everyone. FatS.
Thorin
Hi Steve, http://www.kulthea.net/fitment.xls says 285/35 18's should be fine (given the right offset).. 295/30 18's should be ok too.
supRo
Hi, The tyre wear is too much, I have new T1R proxes and have done about 5K with spirited driving on a TT and still plenty of tread - What Tyre pressure are you running. Have the tracking checked too. How far out do your current tyres stick out compared to the edge of the arch? On mines (265/35/18) the tyre edge is just behind the arch rim so wider tyres would probably hit the arch. Not too sure how much it's lowered by but fairly low. cleland
Steve i run 295/35/19 on the rear, with standard tt suspension, and no arch mods. It just rubs on pot holes. (not that i mean to hit them).

Just goes to show the spreadsheet is correct, it says your tire is too tall
