Aerial slipping - motor working but mast is disconnected.

Just parked the car and the aerial motor was carrying on for ages. Had a fiddle and the aerial can be pulled up / down easily like it's either broken at the bottom or slipped or something.

Has anybody had this problem before? Any hints for fixing?

How do I get to the unit? Trim out in the boot and skinny-arms job or what?

cheers

Try about £40 mate. If its not the teeth on the mast it'll be the teeth on the motor side and that will rape you. Ask jaezzy if he has one spare on his breaker I paid £40 for the whole thing last time I got one second hand I paid over £40 for just the mast from toyota when I snapped one.

hmm thanks guys. I wonder if those instructions work for a non-standard radio. Presumably I should try holding the ON button down while turning the ignition.

Basically you just have to turn the radio on with that nut removed, the aerial should go up and shoot out of the top of the shoot. Beware and ready to catch it else it may fall off and scratch your paintwork!

If the teeth are buggered you'll have to give it a helping hand.
