We aren't having a go at at you mate. We're just saying that the number plate KILO FIVE FIVE ZERO HOTEL PAPA is impossible. It must be KILO FIVE FIVE OSCAR HOTEL PAPA.

The space should be before the letter O, not after the number 0.

K 550 HP is wrong

K 55 OHP is what the registration really is.

Go look on the log book and/or the tax disc if you don't believe us.

Do you see what we mean now?

Not really Matt. The guy is selling a plate that CANNOT have the registration he claims. A plate that has to be mis-spaced to make it mean something is worth a lot less than one that genuinely says the same thing.

Yea, he should just admit its registered as K55 OHP, but i dont see it a problem spacing it as K 550 HP (illigal yes, im sure there are plenty of members here who have different spacing on their plates.) No need to jump on the guys back imo.

My old MR2 NA had a license plate of K200 OGT .. that's what appeared on the log book & the tax disk.

I had plates which read K 2000 GT, K 200O GT & the legal ones - K200 OGT.

My first assumption would be your plate reads K55 OHP on the log book. The "OHP" can't be "0HP" as - as far as I know .. the last 3 characters of a plate must be characters .. not numbers.

But........... the letter o and the number 0 is actually the same 'character' on number plates, so.............. (opening a can of worms and putting on flame proof suit ;))

O & 0 might be the same on plates, but thats the whole point of having legislation governing the spacing of them :)

Well it is on every number plate i've ever made, and thats probably a few hundred now i would think. Someone better tell Signum who supply our digits.
Depends on the font used, doesn't it? Some fonts have O and 0 exactly the same, some don't.

I believe the law changed a couple of years back so that only one font can be used legally on new plates. I'll take your word for them being the same on the new style ones.

Yes, the only legal font is the Charles Wright font, law changed in Janurary 2001 iirc.

I dont know what the fuss is about. All i did was advertise the plate exactly how it appears. Dont see what the problem is? If richie didnt have any problem all this time then why would anyone else?

why is everyone so uptight.

I was going by the plate itself. You may have a point that its spaced differently. I didnt intentionally mean to mislead you guys. I am also surprised this thread is 3 pages long

OK this thread is a bit of a waste of space now LOL. Sorry for the confusion but I only went by what I saw on the car. Thanks for pointing out the spacing but I I give up with this thread LOL.

Bye Bye :run:
