this happened to me - exactly the same. And I bought a new 2nd cat O2 sensor at great expense from Australia. Before it arrived, I posted on this forum and was put right i.e. being cat overheat sensor NOT O2 sensor.

Anyway, that overheat sensor seems pretty difficult to get hold of, and I have reset the probe with metal epoxy putty. Seems OK so far but only 2 months ago and not many miles.

Should be fine mate. Becuase the probe broke of the flange. Just some metal with 2 bolt holes and one for the probe. Could get some clean metal cut it to shape and clean it up. Drill the holes and get someone to put a couple of tack welds on the probe to the new metal flange. Or use JB weld...jb will be strong enough to hold the probe
