RedM
Surely the RSPCA, PETA and all animal rights groups would stand against this.
TRD3000GT
Im afraid I would have to stand up against this.. Dont care if I was on my own but I would just not swallow it down like most of this country.. Its complete BS. When / If the wheels start moving on this project I will have to get things moving quickly
Digsy
"Its all about bringing road policing into core police work". Yep. It's been glossed over until now, hasn't it? FFS. Anyway, I read about this years ago and it never happned. Also, look at the abuse cats' eyes get. A cost-effective camera would never last. If they want hidden cameras it would be simpler to just stop painting GATSOs yellow and start putting them behind road signs and flyovers again. TRD3000GT
How about fitting a massive snow shovel to the front of a jeep and scraping the F**ers off the road!

But to be honest I doubt this Catseyes project will ever happen. - digging up more roads - laying cable across even more roads - cleaning lenses (rain and tyre crap) - maintaining cameras - Public damaging/removing them as they are in easy reach. Its just won't be cost affective.
TRD3000GT
I hope your right.. To be honest some of the money Ive seen our Gov spend makes me doubt sanity any more What we need to remember is at the end of the day WE the people are still in control when we want to be! We put these muppets in to power we can throw them out ... They like to get to big for their boots!

tbourner
Trouble is, Chris, WE DON'T have control!! We vote them in and then it becomes a dictatorship until the next election and we have to do as we're told!! They don't care what the public want at all whilst they're in power, only for 6 months before the election. They should bring in a 'suggestion box' scheme, and any (important/high interest) suggestions get put to a vote by the country, and see if it should be brought in or not - can't be that difficult to set up surely! Guest chiefvinso
The people should be in control, but we arent - it been said many times before, we just seem to take everything up the arse. Some make a fuss but its forgotten about. Politicians know that we are a submissive nation and not united. If we all got together and stood up to be counted then maybe we could get somewhere, but then there are people in situations who cant as they hvae responsiblities that outweigh their beliefs. Its going to be like this until I'm gone, but I'm willing to revolt for what is fair if we as a nation come together.
SimonR
Every time another little bit of our freedom is taken away I always think "surely people won't put up with this". I'm wrong every time.

But thats far too obvious and would mean we would have a chance to make descisions. And you should know that we are not mature enough to do that or decide for ourselves what we can and cant view on TV

terribleturner
Will never happen. Too unreliable and will cost the government loads to fix and upkeep. You will have to have them apart enough to register the distant and speed correctly, but what about tailgaters?? Good idea though, you've gotta give them that.
