k222bye
So as the title suggests, anyone on here daily driving a car with a vented bonnet? Is it a pain in the ass to keep clean? I am asking because my Supra i bought as the Seibon carbon replica bonnet and I don't know whether i should get a new oem bonnet or just keep this. I haven't had the long slog with it as of yet. General consensus is people do not like them. For obvious reasons. Anyone got an experience or any issues they had with them?
evinX
If the vents are not blocked off the engine parts will corrode over the years. Bolts will rust. The manifolds and throttle bodys mainly corrode.
supra_aero
I had vented bonnet on rx7 and supra for years and never caused issues generally. Though it did allow water in electrics ocassionally with Rx 7 in rain sometimes.

I think the issue with mine is because its fibreglass its not alligned properly so I need to get that done. Water is spraying everywhere on the left side. Al Massey
Mine is a vented bonnet. Had the top secret bonnet, no rain guards, drove it daily and never had an issue
Guest Budz86
OEM bonnet with TRD style vents cut into it here. Originally just mesh but it let loads of water in and was a pain to keep clean and things got rusty. Went single so got some rain guards made and they help a lot, but water does still collect in the undertray a bit. Cleaning is quite easy though and a damp cloth usually does the trick, apart from the shiny stuff

The Raven
Had mine done for 5 years? Only issue i had was it rusted off my subwoofer power cable. So i fitted a battery cover. Engine has been pulled a good few times since to. That said i am toying with doing the bay up. If i do then i will be looking into a drip tray of somekind Edited March 10, 2017 by The Raven (see edit history)
Rob W
My dad has the Top Secret vented bonnet on his and has had no issues for the last 10+ years. His is genuine Top Secret, so it does have the rain guards which probably do help.
