Branners
Pulling this from the depths of time itself... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?172889-Nice-mod-for-auto-owners-)&highlight=manual There was a chap on here who used to make a kit (back in 2005), he upgraded to a Ferrari 355 but cannot remember his username. Branners
as if by magic... http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?372-Modifying-the-Auto-gear-shift&highlight=gear Brian Jackett was his name.
thomo8568
This is mine. Push down to move it. Had to move the OD and Manual buttons.
Branners
If you have the designs behind that I'm sure people would be interested to see it. The 'push down' bit was the most interesting bit from Brian's design all those years ago. I think one person mounted the OD button on a race steering wheel. mattdavies
I appreciate some people have done this now and have said its easy... which is good to know, but before I go ripping into my Auto selector can someone PLEASE just write a quick step by step of what they did, and how the thing comes apart. How does the push down to unlock work for instance ? How do the OD and Manu buttons come out ? etc...
Tsia
I'm all for modernising the look of it, but the manual shifter is a bit...eh. Has anybody done any modernising that hasn't involved making it look like a manual?
Tommyd16
I was thinking of doing this but without putting a gaitor on it so the Manu button stays where it is and putting the o/d button on a race steering wheel. Would also be intrested in a write up on how the push down mech works
Branners
SRD now have a paddle shift with the Syvecs ECU which doesnt modernise the shifter, but gives you paddles so you can probably just gaiter the shifter and hide that its an auto.

thomo8568
This is mine. http://i1186.photobucket.com/albums/z364/Thomo8568/604EC7B9-BC33-4947-A359-C45D5E212F5A.jpg Push down to move it. Had to move the OD and Manual buttons. The knob is just a cheap eBay item. I don't know if it made down for an auto. It screws apart, it's got a spring inside and allows for the push down to work. Seen some people who just fasten it down so it freely moves without having to press a button.
