Cost of converting my N/A to a TT...or single turbo??

Recommended Posts

Hi all..I have a very nice N/A Aerotop and fancy having her converted to a TT or single turbo..Can anyone tell me the cost..where to source a good engine from...and who can i trust to do it for me?..and what,if any, are the pitfalls??

Is it just a matter of changing the engine?..what about the gearbox?..or anything else??

Cheers

Single turbo, 6 speed = Conversation over :D

Source the TT Engine from Keron. And either get Whifbitz/SRD/Austec to install it for you :)

Cheers Chris..i did fancy keeping the auto box if i can though..

I'll speak with Keron soon as,

Whereabouts are Whifbitz/SRD/Austec ??

Get an engine from wherever you like, but you need to have the basics like compression test/leakdown done. Auto is by far the cheapest option, and IMO the best but others disagree.

Use a reputable dealer with Supra experience to do the swap, there have been some horror stories and as for cost, well complete engine circa 1500 quid plus labour, youre probably looking at the thick end of 2 and a half grand, maybe more?

Im a big big fan of the auto - But if its an aerotop. Then personally I'd have a 6spd just because it makes sense to me :)

But I love my dads auto single turbo - Absolute monster of a car :D

Whifbitz are in Enfield,London.

SRD are in Sussex.

Austec are in Crawley, West Sussex

Having just completed this myself, for an NA to BPU TT I'd budget in the region of £4000-4500, depending on luck and condition of the engine etc. I'm still running on a W58 and have had no problems with it thus far, though I have only done 5-600 miles.
