Front Decat Pipe

Thanks in advance.

2.5 is plenty big enough, you won't need a 3 inch system until you have much bigger turbos, and I DON'T mean hybrids. If you go to big turbos you will be binning all the stock sequential stuff and turbo outlet plumbng anyway and will need totally different downpipe(s). A complete 2.5 inch system would be fine, but people like the big bore stuff and the makers oblige.

Guys,

I asked the same question not long ago.

I was offered a 2.5" system but many people on this forum told me that "its a 3" or nothing" and "better stick with the stock if you are not doing a 3" system"

Confused:eek:

And... I m booked in for tomorrow for a full decat with a 3" system.

Funny.

Cheers,

Cuba

I believe most have 2.5" decat pipes and 3" aftermarket cat back exhausts, that is what i have.

When I had it done on my last car (only a 2.0 16v megane coupe) it made a great difference.

Happy, happy... :p :p

But, they said they couldnt remove the first cat for some reasons.

So I ve still got one left, the car seems so much more responsive and quicker. One thing that puzzles me is that I boost lower then on the stock system.

Any ideas?

Cuba:)

The ONLY way IMO that is possible is if the new pipe is MORE restrictive.

You mean they TRIED to remove the first cat and failed, or they couldn't supply a first cat replacement pipe? As the 1st cat is by far the more restrictive it should be a priority to have this removed too. I can achieve what others failde to do....

What BHP do you see with a 1.3bar?

Cuba

393.6BHP @ 6017rpm according to my figures.

About 345BHP @ the wheels

352.1LBFT @ 5330rpm.

All done with a peak of 18.5psi...running a bit lean at the top end.
