RobSheffield Posted November 23, 2010 Share Posted November 23, 2010 Just looking online but all the info is mind blowing My dad is looking at a car thats been brought to a local classic car specialist as 'damaged but repairable and unrecorded' I did a quick iphone check on 'mycarcheck' application, it came back as 'Cat C but VIC passed Does that mean its not a cat C now? The part where it 'wasnt recorded' was the people at the specialists, not always terribly honest or accurate The Cat C shows from June, and the damage at the moment is just a broken rear bumper plastic, or so it appears (could be more beneath) Im wondering if the car was damaged in June and left since as insurance companies went back and forth (with it being a rear damage, likely) or if it was fixed, had the necessary checks done to 'remove' the cat C and then had more damage recently. Cat C can be very minor damage if the cost to repair is deemed more than the car is worth. As supraloopy says it could of been minor damaged, even just a few scratches to be a CAT C. But it will always be a CAT C and therefore harder to sell.
