Genius of Charles Darwin

Watched this when it was on a few days ago, all 3 hours of it!!!

http://www.channel4.com/programmes/the-genius-of-charles-darwin/4od

I've never read any of Dawkins books or seen anything of him, but this video made me think he's a bit of a clown. Anyone else seen it? He just seems as naive and extreme as the religious extremists.

I have to say I loved the Archbishop of Canterbury near the end, he basically has the same view as me (which is odd), apart from him believing the stories of Jesus etc. from the Bible are actually real. :D

I watched the program and enjoyed it.

I do have a bias view on the subject but I thought that the program was indeed good, however Charles was abit arrogant in his questioning. And I couldnt believe that archbishop character, he was a snake in the grass. You either believe or dont believe, he was living in some kind of halfway house.

I think you really mean you can't believe in creationism and evolution.

God...or 'a God' ? Which one do you have issues with?

I've always been partial to Athena.

I can respect that, do Aardvarks believe in Evolution or Creationism?

I don't like to speak on behalf of all aardvarks, but personally I believe in the God of Ants who provides my main dietary staple. I don't much care about you tree swingers.

Did you manage to watch the Documentry, and how do you feel about your little earth piglings being let astray during education?

Have you considered burrow-schooling them?

Watched it too, I'm not a fan of Dawkins, and this program was more about him having a go at creationists than Darwin. There was a much better program about Darwin earlier on in the year some time IIRC.

It is always amusing watching the arguments of religious mentalists though.

Actually I'd say I believe in creationism and evolution more than I believe in God and evolution. God implies an overlooking being who's devotion/love is focussed on human beings, whereas I believe our creator started off the big bang and then just sat back and witnessed the entire universe expansion to the point when the last star died, we may be a line in his catalogue of 'beings created in this iteration' but no more than that.

I always thought we were left over and forgotten from an alien child science experiment messing with their first petri dish.
