Any update on this?

I heard there's another thread somewhere about this :D

Okay, to make it interesting :)

If it is the head gasket, I'll pay for a year's membership to the forum for you :) If it isn't I want £10 donated to the RSPCA, fair ;) (Oh and I want decent proof of the HG :))

:D I'd say that's fair game.

What?

Well you've had multiple people telling you it won't be HG, checking/swapping out the heater matrix assembly will be far cheaper than a HG swap but all these comments were brushed aside. Even though there's years of experience here combined from members who have suffered both heater matrix issues and also know plenty about the HG area of the 2JZ.

We're all waiting to see the results chap :) Is the head back on? Has it solved your heater problems?

The bach 4 headblots were loose.....physically the headgasket was ok, but you could see water marks where it has seeped, I've had the head tested for flatness and pressure tested too, the head is on the car, just need to spend a couple more hours plumbing. I've also had the rad tested and flushed the matrix....new water pump and stat also are fitted....fingers crossed?

I guess you replaced the HG as a matter of course when you took the head off? Fingers crossed it solves the heater issue. Let us know how it goes when it's all plumbed back in.

Was the head flat? And did it hold pressure OK?
