Lbm
Thanks mate.. but in my concentration of laboriously linking the Flickr images, I totally forgot to compliment you on your shots!! Were yours handheld, or tri/monopoded? Enough backslapping already...alright just a bit more Mine were all hand held Did you use off-camera flash at all indoors? Edit: sorry Ed, wow, they're great shots.
SupraStar 3000
A fantastic aviation photographer called Franck Cabrol I got in contact with a few years ago let me use some of his pics for an online game community website I made. Some of his pics are amazing. My site http://www.david.c.c.btinternet.co.uk/eaglefront.html His pics (and others) http://pegase.foxalpha.com/

Edit: sorry Ed, wow, they're great shots. Mine were handheld, with indoor shots taken at ISO 1000 (love this 50D! Goes up to 3200 ) - no flash. Still deciding like the indecisive weasel that I am whether to go Canon (550D/50D/7D) or Nikon (D90). I guess it doesn't really matter as a newcomer as Id get used to either camera system in good time.
sdistc
Definitely. Most keen amateurs & professionals use Canon or Nikon cameras, and the choice is basically which you've used previously and found suits you best. There's always some friendly banter about which is better, but I think that, realistically, they are nearly identical. Just remember to compare similar models, and don't be afraid to get a used body in good nick (esp when buying from a reputable camera store, complete with servicing and warranty). Glass is much more important that the camera body, but a decent body is essential IMO.

After seeing these need to start using my Nikkon D70 more, though after playing with a Canon 500D (My brother-in-laws) this weekend, I want one The HD recording quality is brilliant! Oh nice tags btw LBM!

Oh nice tags btw LBM! Stop your whining and take more photos! Your camera at the moment is good enough to get superb shots, but if you're going to upgrade make it worth your while and make a decent upgrade (i.e. top of the range prosumer, or full-frame).
