Nice pictures, any results from the guys?

Cheers Jamie.

I actually lost track of everyone's times as there were so many going on*. Saw a few good runs - can't wait til I get a video camera sorted.

I have about 50 more photos of cars not including Supras which I will upload - some very tasty motors there today.

*I could hazard a guess but I might miss the best time that someone made so I'll keep my mouth shut and let the guys do it themselves.

Results were not as good as my saturday times. I was well happy with 2nd fastest in class in the rain :D

Todays results for me

Drag racing :- 12.50 @ 125 mph (im quite happy with this on R888's with no preped track)

Top flyer :- 152.6 ove the km which got me 5th in class.

Curcuit :- 8th in classs with a 42 second lap.

Steve won the Top flyer with a 162 mph run which was great but somehow as a team we got no points for that ?!?

Overall im happy had a great day out, did not break the car and happy with how she ran.

Must thank Dude and the AFR crew for their hospitality and the BBQ which was well nice

Damn today didn't seem a nice day for Supras. Everytime I saw them on the strip or on the handling, they were struggling for traction or wtaking ages to spool up them big single turbos.

There was no grip on the drag strip abd both Steve and I struggled for traction.

I did alright on the circuit and in 3rd gear most of the way round I was always on boost :)

Well done Mike, respectable times:)

Cheers fella. Hoping to improve the drag time next weekend with a preped track. I was loosing all my time in the the first 60ft. Bets time for the RWD class was only in the early 11s.

Yeh, nice one Mike. Car looked great on the circuit I must say.

Cheers fella, it felt good to, maybel a little oversteary for my liking but guess its something ill get used to. Pics look ace :)

How did Dude get on? sort the cambelt problem?

Unfortunatly not good, They had issues on sat which Dude and Matt got around thanks to the event orgs allowing them to do mapping on the strip. But the belt had a fair size nick in it and on the first run of the day something let go. :(

Congrats Mike - some good times there especially with the usual rubbish surface

Bad luck dude - that car seems cursed! :(

Steve - looks like you really need the good hook up to get that whopping great turbo spooled, not getting the traction on the line looked like it was really hurting you with the next 100yds being required to get on boost and take off. You'll no doubt be waaay faster at Pod with a set of wrinkles on to get you right into the powerband off the line :) Nice one on the top speed class win!!

Personally I'm really pissed off with the organisers of TOTB this year. The correspondence has been piss poor with no communication by email at all - the result of which was we all ended up wondering what on earth was going on and whether the event was really happening. It also resulted in me having to argue with all the heavies on the way in because I hadn't been sent my usual rep pack so had no pit pass etc. - was treated like a criminal trying to get to our area. The net of which means I won't be organising our entry next year - not gonna humour them when they're only really interested in the Evo club for whatever reason. Don't know what the deal was with Chris Mann stepping away from the event completely but without him involved we're worse off with no real pre-event organisation to speak off liasing with the various clubs etc.

TOTB as an event is a shadow of it's former self IMO - number of cars waiting lined up in the pit area was much smaller than previously and other than Evo's there wasn't much of any of the other marques. A direct consequence of the piss poor organising of the event no doubt, that combined with the usual rip off £5 a burger stands just puts people right off running or spectating :(

P.S. My face hurts - got burnt with the overcast conditions so had to do a runner late afternoon

Cheers,

Brian.

Was good to see you today Brian, cheers I was quite happy with my times. Looking forward to trying to improve at the pod next weekend.

I agree the organisation was piss poor, from a drivers point of view not taking the money or sending out packs till the week before was a joke in my opinion.

I did not understand the scoring system.

The lack of qualifying for top speed did not make sense

and no finals between the classes was stupid, should have been the same as the previous years.

I really dont understand why as a club be got no points at all when Steve won the flyers event!

I did 166mph in the rwd class, I think the team points goes on the top 10 speeds over all the classes.

Best time for the RWD class was only in the early 11s.?!?

Quickest time was a 10.7xx @139 early in the day, there was one of the dax rush's and the lotus sunbeam into the tens aswell i think.

Top speed runs just go on the fastest speed throughout the day, because they cant have any finals for it.

I agree on the no finals between classes aswell, why they didnt do it this year, ive no idea?

Overall a happy chappy! Taking my first RWD TOTB win in the 1/4, standing km and 1/4 shootout finals :D

That was my first time going to the event we arrived at York at 3am and followed signs for drag racing into the wilderness and landed at York drag racing track lol it was empty so we knew we were well and truly lost

anywho we arrived at 4am and set up camp behind east coast customs just facing the supra club we then started drinking before passing out through tiredness

Anyways the Saturday wasn't great infact I found we all sat getting drunk to the small hours thank god Sunday was better

Anyways the supras looked amazing and when they were going up the strip you just knew they wernt run ing great or were looseing traction however the sound of them was amazing so I was smiling

overall it was a good event however ne t year I'll fly over that morning and back that night frig that boat trip lol

The whole car is now getting stripped, new loom etc and completly new standalone ecu that we are hoping to be dealers for and im really exited about, Im happy with the F-Con but as we seem to have electrical issues with sensors etc Matt wants to fit this all singing all dancing ecu and custom loom as a demo type thing.

The 3.4 is in the process of being ordered as is all new suspension and prob clutch and T6 turbo, car is going on a Diet and the aim is to pretty much get straight in the 8's at the start of the year and over 220 in the standing miles. Even the guages and dash are going/getting modded, going for a Stack type thing and lighter column with electric power steering.

Lots of big changes coming at AFR so keep a look out for an update thread.

BTW on the last mapping run we managed to hit 7000rpm with a UK diff/6spd and 325/50/15 tyres in 5th, don't know how tall they were cause they only had 12psi in them, car was a bit wobbly and Matt went a funny colour but shame that run didn't count.
