Animal
After killing the engine, being utterly broke, moving away and not having any free time, I've decided that this year will see the return of my trike. It's been buried under a mountain of junk in my dad's garage for nigh on ten years, but that's finally been thrown away and we can see the thing again. It was built after my accident when my left arm was still paralysed and utilised a 1300 Metro automatic as the engine and running gear are all fixed to the sub-frame, so it was an easy build. Currently I have an 2l Cavalier engine to drop in and need to fabricate a new, tidier sub-frame and bodywork (not going to use the Mini front this time round). Animal
The looks it got were ace. I regularly caused jams on the East Lancs going to work as people would just sit along side looking at it (usually in disbelief, wonder or horror, lol). I kind of got impatient, and found out I suck at fiberglassing, so the bodywork was never smoothed in or painted. I just drove the thing. Unfortunately, I aquaplaned it on the motorway and stuck the front under the central barier at 50mph, bending the head bolts amongst other things. Animal
Cheers Blackie It's far easier to build 'em the 'normal' way round, and you can use real engines, but they handle like a dead elephant and are a nightmare to try and turn one-handed. At least this way round, it corners well and uses car controls.

Animal
The best one I ever saw came out of Desperate Dan's custom shop in Milton Keynes and was a supercharged Jaguar V12 engined behemoth! Absolutely mental in a straight line, but couldn't turn for shit.
Blackie
I think you can buy a fibreglass seating pod for the rear you can bolt a VW beatle engine/subframe straight to, I think they were about £2000, They look awesome with twisted chrome forks. Im going to see if i can find on on ebay This is it
Animal
Yeah, it's a Boom trike - the nearest thing you can get to a factory trike. They're built in Germany using either VW or Porsche engines and the last time I looked, started at about £15,000 for a new one. There's about 4 of them knocking about Preston. Ah, they have a UK stockist now... http://www.boom-trikes.co.uk/products.html

Animal
Well, I thought the Boom trikes were a bit expensive. I've just come back from the NABD national rally and there was a company called Rewaco showing off their trikes. They had a good looking Ford 1.6 turbo Zetec engined thing (in my club's colours, too) for the bargain price of £31,000! (£27,000 if you bought the demo model). It was nice, but not that nice. http://www.rewaco.com/download/wallpaper/RF1-04_800x600.jpg

SupraStar 3000
ohh right, Not a foot changer like a normal bike then. but to be honest,.. for me,.. the appeal of trikes is that rough and gritty look. You couldn't exactly hang a stag skull, gang colours and scantily clad lady off that bike could you.
tooley
with you going down the lancs have you ever spotted the trike company at the side of the east lancs at the astley turn off they make them there and have some really swanky ones outside
Animal
Can't say I have, although I'm working in the other direction now and not been down the East Lancs for ages. I'll have to have a look at them, it'll be a good excuse to hand some flyers out for our rally
