Muffleman
IMO a metalflake or any over the top paintwork is going to detract from what you've done. Stick to a strong colour, and not too dark or you'll lose the lines of the bodykit, which TBH is something special !
Supragal
How long have you had to chose the paint/colour, talk about last minute decisions I chose a colour and then they took on another range of paints that do metal flakes etc so it's changed things. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go with the metallic still.

Supragal
I don't even know what candy/kandy MEANS! I've seen candy/kandy cars and they just look shiny and metallic to me. What defines them as being c/kandy? Anyway, decision made- no metalflake!!
Bobbeh
Candy is sprayed over normal paint, its like a coloured clearcoat. Anyway, with the colour you're planning on going with (if its still that purple) I wouldnt worry about candy as its got enough shine/sparkle to it as it is. Supragal
That just looks like a red shiny car to me! Just a darker red so it's more acceptable than bright red Bobbeh- thanks and yes pretty much that purple, bit darker but still the same effect
Bobbeh
This is a better example.. on a car that actually makes it look nice!
Supragal
The only candy apples I've seen are red- is there a reason for that? That car, although lovely, just looks like a red car with an odd pink sheen to it- is that the candy part of the equation?
Bobbeh
Yes. Thats the sparkle/flick/shiney bit added to clearcoat that goes over a normal base colour. Red looks nice and I guess is a common colour for it, I've seen cars in Green and Blue and they lokl look nice. I think red gives a better effect.
