Steve
Spent this afternoon removing the front bumper ready for my FMIC, noticed some water on the floor. So checked the radiator and found its very soft and wet. So soft you can push your finger through it!! So thought might as well remove the radiator and get it sorted. 1. Can these be re cored or is it best to get a new one? (cost) 2. The thin radiator in front on the water radiator is that something to do with the aircon? 3. This was also knackerd so can this be re cored or is it a new one? (cost) Thanks
Rob
1. I've just been to a radiator specialist, and he had nothing in his books (or phone contacts) suitable for re-coreing a supra rad, his opinion was that Toyota keep it all in-house. Toyota want £270ish for a new rad. 2. Yes, it's something to do with the air-con. 3. Given the above, I'd be surprised if you can get it re-cored. Don't know the cost. paul mac
i was in the same boat mate, so i allways like to see "opportunities" rather than "problems" so upgraded to a fluidyne, i think you can get the manual re-cored there was a guy a while ago did this for about £200 using a lexus core, or give dusty a try at MVP for a good price on a fluidyne

JohnA
That's the condenser mate. I'd ask a car aircon specialist for a potential replacement, they've got several catalogs with equivalents etc...

paul mac
koyo are pretty good and thats a crackin price go for it mate, with regard to the air con rad mine is a 93 the radiator was shot but the air con rad was still in pretty good nic, is your air con still working if it is i would run it till it packs up cos changing the air con rad would be expensive, first you'de have to find one then pay to have the system drained and then re-filled, i've allways thought if mine packs up i would ditch it all to save weight and get some more air in the engine
JohnA
I've sent him an email asking the postage for UK. For this sort of money it's worth dumping the existing rad anyway and fitting a new one with a full coolant flush.
Steve
Just thought it would be easier to replace the damn thing while the car is in bits. Dont want to put it back together, then in 3 months the aircon rad is knackered. The bottom of the air con in soft as shit. Plus i like my aircon!! Chris Wilson
I have never found any UK based rad specialist able to recore the MKIV TT rad, the core used is bigger than anything they had available, in at least one of its dimensions. I did have a few uprated rads made a couple of years ago, but to better the superb core in the stock rad made them about 500 quid in small batches. I personally would just buy a new stock Toyota one. carl0s
Stock Toyota auto radiator was only £190-something from Steve Manley last time I checked. For a manual you just don't connect the auto-lines up. Or something. They only carry the auto one. A/C condensor, full assembly complete with receiver/dryer and some pipework was ~£
