Bobbeh
How could the engine not fit? The IS300 in the US uses the 2JZ.
Chris Wilson
Proper job! Engine nice and far back in bay, proper induction set up, decent heat shielding, they even mounted the programmabel ECU baord in the same box as the IS200 one which controls air con and dash displays. I'd be very proud of that conversion myself.

Chris Wilson
But this is in Oz, and it started off as a 2 litre 4 cylinder.... You don't think the yanks could do anything quite as tasteful as that, surely ?

Chris Wilson
They have done some really nice conversions. I rate the Ozzies and NZlanders for this sort of stuff, they seem to have the patience to do stunning work.

Bobbeh
Going back to the pic.. love the way the intake uses the standard airbox.. do you think hes snuck a cone filter on the end of that enclosed in the box? Very nice install if so.
JohnA
...do you think hes snuck a cone filter on the end of that enclosed in the box? ... Yeah, using a filter element with 3-4 times less the active surface is a good way to gain power, well if you believe the advertisers that's how it is, lol.... Ian C
He's in a bad mood because internet access is extremely slow and very sporadic at work Pod filters are great if you've got heatshielding and a bit of ducting And a good reason to have them. And they aren't green mushroom ones. Must sort out my heatshield lol And some ducting. Still, one out of three isn't bad -Ian
JohnA
Ian, before ditching the HKS filter thing, I took the time to measure it's effective surface area: 1050cm2 Do you know how much the surface of the stock filter is? 5000cm2 mate. Almost FIVE times as much. Not even similar ball park figure, we're talking about a serious downgrade here... Heat soak comes for free. But hey, it sounds kewl, so that's good enough to spend money on it, it's a free market after all, each to their own.
Alex
Not all Pod filters are the same size or construction
