Just, you know, add some accessories, lip gloss, maybe drop five pounds ... Lisa: Aren't we a little young for make-up, and ... what do you mean, five pounds? Janey: Well you want to look nice for your date. Lisa: Date? Alex: Hello. For the dance. Eh. Lisa: You guys have dates? Sherri: Hello. Lisa: Stop saying "hello"! Alex: Okay, calm down, Lisa. DMY. Lisa: What's DMY? Alex: Don't Mess Yourself. Lisa: Eww. Alex: Yeah, that's why we changed it to DMY. But, changed it from what? I guess it means Don't Mess Yourself, so what was it before? DSY? Ok "Don't mess yourself" puts an image of you messing yourself in your head. In lisa's head she pictured her soiling herself so the reaction to that image was "Eww". next. It was changed from "Don't mess yourself" to "DMY" as when you say DMY you don't picture you messing yourself. Of course you could argue that "DMY" makes you think of "Don't Mess Yourself" and then in turn brings about the images. BUT, if you get used to using a certain abbreviation it could also be argued that the acronym ends up with the basic meaning of chill out without the indication of grossness.
