A lot were fixed by simply taking everything out of the car and then making sure it was put back in properly and securely. Then there were certain cables like the boot release which had factory foam around it to stop it tapping against the body work, but over the years it has either shrunk or moved and wasn't working anymore, so that was fixed with the double sided sticky foam. Any unneeded cables were removed to reduce the chance they were rattling. Then I checked all of the factory wiring loom I could see and just made sure it was all secure, using extra cable ties on anything that might rattle.

There's still two bloody rattles though! One in the boot and one right in the middle of the dash somewhere that I've not been able to identify yet. I think they're only going to be fixed by me stripping the dash down again and then driving the car around a bit until I can narrow down exactly where the noise if coming from.

EDIT - Actually some more foam was used on the radio casing as that was rattling at certain revs too.

Buy some ear plugs - it's easier and has the added bonus that Genna doesn't have to hear you whittering on in the background whilst she's driving. ;)
I just don't listen to him any way:innocent:

There's a magic dial that you can twist a long way to the right that eliminates all rattles/unwanted sounds at pretty much any speed... (See pic, as marked!)
That worked right up until the suspension died. Replacing the suspension gave the motivation to clean the car.

few hours of hard work there, looks great
hehe yeah just a few:)

I could do with some new speakers... do you have a linky to the ones you got please? :)
The fronts were the cheapest 10cm Kenwoods in my local Halfords (~£20) and the rears were some more expensive Kenwoods that had been in the garage for a couple of years! Both required some very minor tweaks to get them to fit snugly so they aren't a direct swap.

It's a great feeling when you look back at what you've done and notice the difference straight away. The car looks alot better ;) :D
It certainly is, but now it's raining:(
