Whitesupraboy2
Found on another forum. Streams all main UK channels BBC1,2,3,4 ITV, CH4 etc.... http://zattoo.com/ Its free and works very well, the High quality streams look fine in full screen too. It may be of use if people have a PC in room where dont have TV point. Also maybe others can recommend something better.

AndrewOW
Interesting. I wonder if it'll work from Rhodes. CJ - give this a whirl!? I don't see why not, and with a decent broadband connection it should work. It is an IP address after all, isn't it?
Pete
I don't see why not, and with a decent broadband connection it should work. It is an IP address after all, isn't it? Not always. Try viewing US TV sites - they do GeoIP checks to determine your country location. They could argue if you're in the UK it's fair to assume you have a TV License. There's not much chance if you're in Greece. You could go via UK proxy or VPN though.

AndrewOW
I've got this on in the background as I type this. What an excellent way of watching some standard channels without firing up the plasma! Once they release Sky1 I will definitely be happy. My underpants are quite adequate, just. Thank you.

Guest billadam
There is a lot of internet TV streaming software available on the web nowadays that it makes one get confused on which to pick. First, look at the costs and features of each software program. You should know what your needs in terms of television entertainment are. From these, you can now pick which software suits you best. Some offers more channel selection than the others, while some offers better audio and video quality. Be sure that what you will get will contain both to get you money to its worth. AndrewOW
Not available in HK Just an aside, Nic, whereabouts in Hong Kong are you based? I was there a few weeks ago, and will be going out again in July staying in Kennedy Town.
Sharpie
They must be doing some kind of GeoIP check as I'm in Germany today and all the TV channels are Deutsche! Also, if I try to register, it does not recognize my UK post code....as it's checking against German postcodes I expect.

Wez
I wonder if you would need to purchase a TV license if you dont own a TV, but have a PC/laptop watching this via the internet. Bit of a grey area that one
imi
The TV license renewal form explicitly includes the requirement for a license for TV via the internet as well.

Bit of a grey area that one No grey.... I'd have tried the loophole if it existed as I have no tv aerial and no way of picking up signal even if I had (live just over the brow of a hill and given that I'm so close to the transmitter it over shoots us), I still have the pay for a crappy license ontop of giving Branson some money.
