thats not bov thats the stall sound homer was talking about. You cant/dont get it with the stock system i dont think

 

I like that sound too... But doesn't it cause damage to the turbos??

 

So you're saying that a UK Supe doesn't need a BOV? How about J-Spec? Do they benefit from a BOV?

You only get that sound on large aftermarket turbo's. Theres a lot of debate on whether it shortens the life of the turbo, but thats a whole other discussion.

 

Just to reiterate, all turbo supra's have a BOV as standard. It's only that one some UK's there are problems with externally vented ones, which can cause stalling. It doesn't seem to affect everyone though, don't ask me why!

 

As mentioned, there is no benefit to running an externally vented one on any TT supra, they are only fitted because some people want the 'chirp' noise when lifting off under boost.
